If so why and if not, why not?

It all comes down to a handful of other things to consider:

Will people in the most contested states/districts open their eyes to the truth and realize that this GOP Leadership is taking us down the Highway to Hell (Including not doing a good job in protecting the constitution and keeping the other two branches balanced and checked, and not holding criminals in government accountable)?

Is our voting system trustworthy? If it is, then how can we be sure of that?

Will we finally be on the path towards ending the Illegal Occupation and War in Iraq?

There are many more, but all we can really do is hope for change. If not, then I can honestly say that this country is truly in a free fall towards a Full-Fledged Fascist Dictatorship.

I think the GOP might have a chance of being booted out in november. For one thing alot of people are feed up with Iraq. If there occurs alot of those people coming out in November then we can kiss the GOP good-bye. Though there are enough Republican supporters that might reelect their republican representatives and senators back in. One thing to consider ussually incumbents stay in congress for awhile. Also to keep in mind is throughout the past 50 years congress has rarily been controlled by republicans. In fact, just recently (1994 election and the following election) the republicans have had control of congress for 2 straight terms, that hadn't happen for about 50 years (i think, don't quote me on the numbers though, I know for a fact its been awhile).

The GOP will lose in my opinion one house of congress, (the House) Polling data continually shows that democrats lead on the generic congressional ballot, and in 4 states democrats are beating incumbents in Senate Races. This is something that scares Republicans.

But that is not to say Republicans are without hope. All it take is one democratic party mistep and the party will screw its chances in November.

I hope so, they certainly have taken this country in the wrong direction, hell more then half of the world hates us and the other half don't trust us. We need to restore checks and balance to the system, we can no longer afford to let the repuke's spend and spend and give to the rich. The poor and middle class are really hurting in this country with the price of gas being over $3.00 a gallon. Everything is up including unemployment. We need the democrats to take control of one or both of the houses just to provide these checks.

I don't know about you, but I intend to do my part. Why? Because power corrupts and the Republicans have become too corrupt and people are sick of all the lies.....high gas prices....inflation....deaths of Americans in Iraq and on and on. Its time for some new blood in Congress. Also, don't know how many people have noticed this, but during the Clinton administration when the Republicans seized control of Congress in their now-infamous "Contract With America" each Representative elected vowed to serve only two terms. Yet there are some, like Henry Bonilla of Texas who are gunning for Term No. 6.....like I said, people are sick of the lies.
