America has an economic blockade against Cuba, we don't want them getting any money because we are trying to get rid of the communist regime.

It's all about Politics. If members of either party would use their brain and finally conclude that the 40+ year old embargo has failed, then they risk losing the Cuban Vote in Florida. This isn't about Democracy, Communism, Capitalism, a Dictatorship...it's simply about pandering to the Cuban Exiles that despise Castro.
I agree that it is hypocritical to say we don't trade with them because they are Communist, because China is one of our biggest trade partners and they are one of the most hardline communist countries in the world.
To say that it is because they are undemocratic is also hypocritical, for reasons already mentioned regarding China, along with many other Third World Trade Partners where Dictators rule...especially Saudi Arabia.
It's been over 40 years and the Cubans haven't kicked Castro out. Cuba still profits from other foreign tourists, as well as their partnership with many South and Central American Leftist leaders. The only people that suffer here are the families torn apart in addition to some areas where we could actually help the people of Cuba.

The Cuban Missle Crisis back in the 60's cause the United States to induce a trade embargo between The U.S. and Cuba. It's all because of the Cold War and the fight between Democracy and Communism.

No one go in, no one go out. They made a deal, with Usa, that Usa would leave them, alone, if they could keep Guantanamo Us property. A small Island, in fact.
So it is...
But after, because Usa, is bigger, and can impose it, they made a embargo, so nothing can be exported to Cuba. Nothing. No food, Gas peoples, nothing.

it's part of the embargo to cuba instituted in the 60's. it was designed to cripple the cuban economy (hahahaha!) and cause the cubans to overthrow castro. it turned out to be a completely worthless gesture.
