Why are Democrats so negative?

I never hear anything positive coming from the Democrat side of Congress, it is all criticisims of Republicans.

Interesting situation.

The Republicans control congress -- both the Senate and the House. With all the partisan (and "lock step") voting, the Senate leaders, and house leaders, will not let bills proposed by Democrats even get to the floor. In fact, even if EVERY democrat, and almost half of the Republicans were to support a bill, Speaker Hastert has announced that he would not let the bill get to the floor (would put hold on it), as he believes that no bill supported by less than a "majority of a majority" will get to the floor.

So what? So the bills that make it to the floor are written by Republicans. Amendments by Democrats are either not allowed, or voted down (straight party line).

What that means is that the Democrats are stuck with what they believe are "bad" bills. Their speaches are addressing the bills on the floor, with which they disagree.

Once upon a time, members of congress would try to work together for bi-partisan bills. But even then, the work was done "behind the scenes." Today, you must speak either for or against a bill. And, believe it or not, Republicans support the Republican bills, and Democrats object and criticize.

Incidentally, were the shoe on the other foot, I suspect the situation would be the same.

What would you like to hear? The democrats say "oh great, yay, the republicans finally want to do something about the minimum wage, yippie" even when the bill republicans want to pass is a greedy piece of crap.. Your not going to here positive things coming from the democrats unless they can actually get some things done that they think are positive. The republicans have control, the dems cannot get anything done..

Maybe because all the Republican'ts do is call Democrats cowards and nobody's and attack their honorable veteran records when MOST OF THEM haven't EVEN SERVED? 60 Minutes Newsmagazine reported: Halliburton has STOLEN $1 Billion TAXPAYERS dollars in Iraq, yet the White House and GAO (General Accounting Office) have 1 (one) person investigating over 70 accounting frauds from Iraq, Halliburton included. Kind of have him S-P-R-E-A-D out don't they? Yet, when Clinton got a BLOW J*B from an ugly intern, they SPENT $64,000,000 TO INVESTIGATE IT! Why the BIG DIFFERENCE?

One man investigating over 70 fraud cases worth potentially BILLIONS (BILLIONS) OF DOLLARS (THIS IS THE REPUBLICAN ANSWER TO FRAUD) yet THESE SAME REPUBLICANS spent $64,000,000 INVESTIGATING WHETHER A DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENT HAD A BLOW J*B!??

both sides are criticising each other. Have you even looked at how bad the republicans bash the democratrats on here. They are far crualer then the dems.. The rudeness makes them look like babies instead of adults in politics. I would think i was in high school on here. We are not going to agree on issues that is a fact but to be jerks is wrong. Democrats are generally positive. The Democrats in congress see and fight what is wrong and there is a lot under the Bush administration and their war.
