He talks about conservatives not serving, but we all know most liberals hate the military and would rather serve as human shields for Saddam than serve their own country. Isn't it obvious since they have a problem with the pledge and waving the flag?

The "we all know" was a nice touch. It almost makes it seem like you've actually done more than just repeat someone else's propaganda.

I feel really sad for you, because you claim to love this country but you don't seem to understand the values that it was founded upon.

You seem to think it's OK to force people to say things, whether they want to or not, and to silence any expression that disagrees with you. Unfortunately, this country was founded upon freedom. The federal government exists to "secure the blessings of Liberty". And the very first first amendment to the constitution guaranteed the rights of the people to be free from government coercion or censorship.

You seem to think someone is Un-American because they want to exercise their constitutional rights. But what does it say that you want to trample and disregard their constitutional rights?

Do you really think that allowing the government to pass laws defining what people can and cannot say is what the Founders of this country had in mind? If they wanted everyone to serve in the military, or every elected official to serve, they would have put that in the Constitution. Or it would have been made part of the requirements of office by federal law. It hasn't, for the very simple reason (apparently missed by some) that this country isn't yet a dictatorship. And our Constitution doesn't allow the government to force people to act and speak the way you want them to.

I feel really sad for you, because you don't even realize how hypocritical and self-destructive your beliefs are. All we can hope is that enough other Americans remember the values this country was founded upon, and stop attacking those who are supporting those constitutional values, just because they are doing so differently that you might have.

So you're saying that 20-25% of military men are Democrats whom you claim are all or mostly liberals. So what's your point? I prefer to see people as individuals. Many republicans have the false notion that they must agree with the war in order to be good Americans and support the president. However, much of what makes this country great is the RIGHT the absolute RIGHT to differ, including differing with the president. I think Bush has a lot of good qualities and I believe him to be sincere. However, I disagree with aprox. 2/3 of what he says and does.
I don't support the war because I don't believe it is the duty of our beautiful patriotic soldiers to fight and die for Israel.
Am I quoting the Boy Scouts here...duty to God and Country? Not to Israel. They are not our God or our Country, correct? So why can't those military men we both love so much stay here and do their duty to God and Country HERE in ours? At triple pay, with benefits, and respect?

They want to be seen as mainstream because they know the ones who admit to being flag-burning, draft-dodging, blood-throwing, campaign-screaming, clinic-bombing, fanatic, liberturdian, US-haters aren't liked so much.
