A "good" American is one who provides himself legitimately with food, clothing, shelter, pays legitimate taxes and, when his effort develops resources superfluous to his needs, establishes ways of sharing them with others who cannot succeed in finding enough.
A "good" American helps to maintain and improve a progressive educational system. He enjoys recreational activity without imposing his expression on the uninterested. A "good" American realizes that the pursuit of happiness is a journey that cannot end (until he has reached his personally acceptable goal).
A "good" American understands his responsibilites under the US Constitution. A 'good" American understands his rights under the Constitution.
A "good" American resists the temptation to subvert the "system" to his personal benefit. He resists the temptation to prey on the gullible.
Those are the thoughts that spring to mind at the moment. There may be other definitions later.

In my opinion a good American is someone who lives and lets live. Who respects the rights of others to be different. I don't mind paying taxes to build roads, fund security, and help the less fortunate. A good American does not blindly follow authority but obeys the law and does not hurt others. A really good American takes everything they hear or read with a grain of salt and makes decisions based upon intelligent insight as opposed to blind emotion like hate and fear. There are good points to be made by the intelligent on both sides of the fence. I never thought I would see the day when our country would be so divided. We are all Americans, the good ones don't hate each-other.

If you are listening to those shows, I would think you could figure that out for yourself. I doubt you hear it "constantly" or you wouldn't be asking. So, go listen.
