Yes for legal marriage, as for religious marriage, it's up to the place of worship. Religion and government need to stay out of each other's way. The government has no right to tell different places of worship who they can an can't marry if it conflicts with the religion's beliefs. At the same time, religions have no right to impose their beliefs onto the lives of others. The government saying two people are legally married should have no basis on what a religion's beliefs are. There are no secular reasons to not allow same sex marriage, and the government of the United States is a secular government. It would be wrong for the government to take away the rights of some because of the beliefs of others. For example, if a gay atheist couple decided to get married legally, it would be absolutely wrong for the government to say no just because the Judeo-Christian bible has something against homosexuality.

Most definately. I don't see why what I do in my own bedroom or house can have any bearing on anyone else. Don't give me the "what about teaching the children?" line either. I and my partner have raised 4 kids (two were hers and two were mine from a previous marriage, no our husbands filed on us to be with thier lovers). All of our kids are straight, one is married, one has been married, one is engaged and the last is still in school but thinks that some of the guys are "hotties". It is the last form of social discrimination that is in a large scale.

although there are countries that allow it, the US will not recognize it due to its puritanical views and the right wing christian fundamentalism that exists in the White house. We may be a world leader in commerce but we are behind in social issues and views. No wonder we are laughed at. However I and my partner had away around the laws, our religion allows for same sex marriages, because our beleif state that the soul of a person has no sex, but the body does. Since our marriage rites are the joining of souls and not bodies...Oh by the way did I say that we were witches? Hmmm hows that for forward thinking.

Depends on what you think marriage is and what it is for. First of all marriage is between three individuals. Man, Woman and God, in the normal sense of the word, and it is for pro creation that this union takes place. It is not about blessing the sexual activity of two people, it is about creating a spiritual atmosphere where God is the driving force. What is the point of two people of the same sex getting married? They can't have a natural family. They can pretend that they are like men and women in a union with God. I guess they may get a tax break or something and they can get a divorce. If it wasn't for the family thing then It is my opinion that nobody should be married. Everyone should have their own nitch and if they want to go our to eat or something together then so be it. If it is about altered consciousness and sex, then it starts to get into the area of lust and sexual addiction and fornication and there fore sin. Starts to not make sense and God is not the author of confusion, satan is.

Yes. I have an admittedly very selfish reason for thinking this way. Gay people, by definition, can't reproduce. So, there's a lot less future sewage sludge and I could maybe find a parking space. Let's give every gay $75,000 a year just for being gay (no cheating with the opposite sex, OK?). In the long run, we'll get rich off the surplus of natural resources.

No there cannot and should not be same sex "marriage." Marriage is the life-long union of a man and woman which exists for the love of each and the having of children.
Male and female are not just physical differences. People are male and female right down to their genes and are ordered to each other in natural attraction for the sake of the continuation of human beings.
Whatever you call a relationship beween two men or two women, it is not marriage. States and governments did not invent marriage, they only recognized it and put it into law. Somethings exist prior to constitutions and laws as our own Constitution says we are endowed with them, not by the government, but by the Creator.

Living beings have sexuality in order to reproduce... that is what sexuality is for. Same sex animals and people cannot reproduce and so it is abnormal. A marriage is a commitment between two living beings of opposite sex to stay together to raise the children that result from sexual intercourse. Some animals pair for life too.

Do I think there should be?
No, of course not. Homosexuality is not natural or normal, society should not encourage it.
Would it upset me if the US legalized it?
Sort of, but not really. It's really to late to try to stuff it back into the closet and shut the door now, isn't it? Might as well let 'em have the same "marriage" everyone else has--empty.

No. Becasue every religion is against this abnormal practice. it is totally against how God wants our lives to live. Think about it, humans are the best of all creations. Humans should not start such horribly disgusting practice which is frowned upon by any sane & educated person.

Even lower class animals and birds, insects & worms don't do that kind of repugnant action.

May God save us all from such evil & horrible sin.

No, I'm totally against it. Holy matrimony is between a guy and a girl. Nothing else. The bible clearly goes against same sex marriages. Not to mention its desgusting.

Have a nice day :-)
