...then why not come to church and find out for yourself? There are friendly Christian congregations almost everywhere!
In addition to the usual Sunday-morning worship services, most churches offer extra worship services, Bible-study groups, community service, volunteer opportunities, outreach programs and other activities throughout the week.
Church isn't only about worshipping God; it's about building strong communities, connecting with neighbors, and making new friends.
Won't you join us this Sunday?

EVERYONE: Answerer # 20, Brenda's World, is a malicious "troll," i.e., a rabid basher of God and Christianity. Her "answer" here is a copy of a nonsense posting she made elsewhere, plus some replies she has received to her many vitriolic anti-Christian attacks. She has modified some of those replies to sound as if they were directed to me. Please pray for her.

NO THANK YOU.
I used to go to a Pentecostal (Assemblies of God) church. I have never met so many "sincere" hypocrites in my life. The gossip was incredible, and many members eventually went on to other churches (or simply stopped going to church) because of this "do as I say - not as I do" attitude and how hurt they were from the flock of Jesus. From being there for many years, I then went to the Baptist church and it was Ok until people got to be a bit too friendly (digging for information that they later talked about), and then there was more bigotry (based on gossip), with people trying to control other people as they engaged in inner politics -- all while putting on a smile and acting like they are God's ambassadors and are as pure as snow -- AND intimidating others with their "you know you need this church or you will go to hell" statements.
And my great aunt was a Jehovah's Witness and she used to rattle on about things, so I think I have had enough church stuff -- from a variety of sources -- for quite some time. Thank you very much !!

It's a waste of time. Why study a man-made text book that's being passed off as the word of God? I've been there. That's so cultish. All that attempting to interpret passages that really make no sense, healing in the name of Jesus...that never really works, "speaking in tongues" mumbo jumbo. Wake up....you're being had!

I found the truth. I was six and I read a pamphlet that said it didn't matter how gfood a person was, if they weren't Christian, they were going to Hell. It said that girls who love girls and boys who love boys are going to Hell too.
It stated that animals don't have souls.
All of this was contrary to life as I saw it, and I decided taht I liked the Devil better. He was more God-like than God; he accepted everybody. He takes those that an uppity and selfish God doesn't deem worthy to be in His presence.

No. I am not christian, please stop trying to convert people, it will only backfire. I have been to church many times and was not interested, I went with family or friends when I happened to want a free Sunday brunch. I can see how chistian communities are good, but NO! I am not against you, I am just not interested!!!

Here is a summary of Christian doctrine:
God pretended to kill himself so people like Osama Bin Laden, Adolf Hitler, George Bush, et al, will not be eternally punished if they say, "Jesus, save me" with their dying breath.
No sense wasting time or gasoline going to church.

That's all very nice. I'm just afraid I'll meet some people at these worship services, get to know them a bit, and glimpse their seamy side.
