The rules? Jesus will judge us at judgment, none of us can tell anyone else if they're going to heaven or hell. A christian preacher who molests a child needs to be in prison, just like any other criminal, off the streets and away from children. Being a preacher just makes a horrible crime even worse. People in power or high positions should be more accountable for their actions, especially when it damages a child. It's sad, but understandable if that child never wants to walk into a church again. This is why Christ will be our judge, He knows our hearts, no human can do that.

i believe people are never tested beyond what they are capable of dealing with. if i was a kid in that position i think i would be smart enough to figure out that the preacher was a fraud and not blame all of Christianity or God for it. Just like there are so-called preachers and men of God that abuse their position to make a profit and live the good life ... i dont let it destroy my belief that there are true people out there. I knew a preacher once in a small town in tennessee ... one time while out in the country on a back road i came up on a car ... who was it but that preacher with a young girl from the church, and this preacher was married. It hurts and it damages your whole outlook but after awhile i came around to just seeing this guy for what he really was and not blaming the entire church or God for it ... i'm sure it would be even harder if you were the one molested or whatever but people are resilient ...turning away from God in a situation like that is not going to help or heal anything ... turning to God and facing the reality of it is the best solution.

Religon isn't about the church you attend, it's about having the one on one relationship with God. If a child got molested by someone in the church, encourage them to talk to somebody (counsler, teacher, trusted adult) about it so that it doesn't affect the other areas of their life. If at some point the child decides to go back to the church, great. The two most important things though for the child's well being is 1) getting the child some help for the molestation that occured and 2) giving them a one on one relationship with God.

Well it depends on what you mean by be "Christian". It seems the kid is blaming God for somebody else not being Christian. Shouldn't he blame the preacher and Satan? I can understand not trusting that person or organization again. It is very very important to not put your faith in a church or pastor but only in Christ. This is a very heart breaking story. After enduring hardship or sin many people lose their faith in a loving faithful God--that's what Satan wants. He preys on the innocent and tries to bring sinners in contact with God's children so that they can attack them and make them doubt God. Just read Job. Is it a big cosmic game to Him? I don't think so but our love is worthless if it is compelled. Would the boy go to hell? We can't judge people's hearts just their actions. If he truly hates Jesus and has no faith in Jesus' desire to heal him I think he might go to hell. If he loves Jesus and is confused and decides to not ever attend that church again but seeks God faithfully elsewhere he might go to heaven still. God doesn't give us all the rules but we do know that He is truly compassionate--He states it over and over again in the Bible! I think he wanted to make that clear because he knows it's pretty rough down here.

If he chose not to accept Christ, yes. The preacher wasn't a true christian, because of his actions. It's not about being a 'christian', it's about accepting Jesus as your savior, not whether or not you go to a church. Also, if he died before the age of accountability, then no matter what, he goes to heaven. God is a just God, and he would know what to do in a situation like that.

I think the bible has some sort of end-note for that one.
You know....something that sweeps the sin under the carpet and moves the problem to another church...with other boys.
What happens is that the preacher admits his sins, repents, and then is moved to another church. Not only does everyone forgive, but they forget....quickly.
I find it fascinating that Christians would blindly forgive the sin of Child Molestation if it's a preacher, but all consensual adult gay people inherently go to hell ..just because.
That's Christianity for you.

I really don't know they rules on that but I don't think its fair for the kid to burn in Hell. His belief in God was ruined by a traumatizing experience. It should be the preacher who should burn in Hell, and if the kid continues to live a right life despite his belief in God. He'll get a chance in Heaven. That's just my thoughts, I don't read the bible enough to know if the kid is going to suffer.

well to be fair there is a pretty big distinction between a catholic church and a christian church. i'm sure many other people will tell you that in their answers.
but, if you follow the rules strictly, you are right. that person would burn in hell because they no longer accept the church or god.

First of all it's the Catholics that are molesting kids, not Christians. That shows you right there who's got screws loose. Each individual has to choose for himself to turn away from God or accept Him. If he doesn't accept Him, he will go to Hell. This is regardless of unfortunate events in his life.

1. the kid would need jesus
2. the preacher REALLY need Jesus
3. Both would need deliverance.
I believe the Holy Spirit would desire to minister to the kid. I cannot elaborate on the condition of the child's heart from God's perspective when he gets older but I also believe the Holy Spirit wouldn't want him to live the rest of their life in this condition.
