As portrayed in the show My Name Is Earl? Why or Why not?

It does and that's the way the cookie crumbles...although it is probably not as obvious to most sufferers as it is to Earl. And that is probably the biggest issue of all...if we can't relate to the reason(what we did to create our present suffering) then we can't fix it immediately to alleviate the suffering. So maybe we are meant to suffer as restitution or as an example to us not to dismiss the suffering we have caused others! But, not ALL physical suffering is Karmic and that is where free will comes in-this particular life has its own dynamics and sometimes another's free will can screw you over(like a drunk driver crashing into you) and sometimes your own can do the same(like eating 5000 calories a day). So watch what you do this time around, and accept the ill-luck that comes to you as a result of past transgressions

Karma is sort of like the theory of relativity....for every action there is an opposite and equal reaction...except that with Karma, every bad energy that is released into the universe comes back with a force 3 times as great (or more, can be multiples of threes, depends on how bad it is). Same with good energy.

So say you get hit by one of those Karma balls from some bad energy you threw out, and it's multipled by three. Say you did something to make someone cry. That karma ball would be directed at your eyes, or your heart. You could go blind, or have your vision impaired, or get pink eye. You could drop dead of a heart attack, or just have a few little twinges in your chest.

Say you did something to make someone afraid. That karma ball would be directed at your mind. So you could become paranoid and fearful, or you could just get gawd awful headaches.

It's all relative.

So yes, it could and would make you physically ill. Should it? Well, should you be throwing negative energy out there willy nilly anyway? No, so if you do, yes it should come back on you. It's the law of the universe.

Karma is based on "what you reap; you will sow". You give, and it comes back to you a hundredfold...you take...and you will be taken from...things of this nature. It makes sense to me. Life seems to be full of "checks and balances."

depends on what was done....

you hurts someone physically, we expect you to be hurt physically.

if you hurt someone mentally, we expect you to be hurt mentally.
