I am a South African studying in Europe and some people have thought that I am German, French, Italian and even Spanish. Actually I have roots from France, Germany and Netherlands so maybe the differences aren't so great.

No, but I've met someone Filipino and White and thought they were Japanese! It's a very cute mix.^u^ I'm Japanese, Russian, German, and I think Chinese and possibly Polynesian. People've mistaken me as a Latino. I like it cuz I think Latin Americans are hot but I could easily pass as Middle Eastern or Ashkenazi Jewish. Sometimes I feel the need to pass because I once heard a woman say she wanted to kill an Asian woman and her mixed child because she hates interracial couples. It's messed up but it scared me. I live in a predominantly conservative White town and I try my best to avoid White people. I know that a lot of them are judging me. Sorry if I offend anyone but I'm the type to be extra cautious.

No I never have intentionally but everyone assumes I'm Puerto rican or Mexican and a rainbow of other things. They can never figure out what I am because I am of mixed race. My Father is African American and Creole and my Mother is Portuguese and Hungarian

I'm not sure if this counts or not...
I was in 7th grade and I had a small group of 3 girls ABSOLUTELY convinced I had gone to church the Sunday before and changed from "white" to "Mexican". They were Mexican (so was my best friend) and use to call me "white girl" all the time. Well - I just decided I wanted to be one of them. It took a bit of convincing...and I stuck to my story for quite some time. They believed me (I don't know for how long. as far as I know Alma may still talk about the white girl who went to church to change her ethnicity! :) finally.
I do love the history, romance and culture surrounding Mexico. And yes, those girls wanted to be called Mexican. Not Latino or Hispanic...they were very proud to be from Mexico. Hence - Mexican.
So - if 7th grade counts... :) Yes, I did.

Alot of people think I am mexican, even though I am half filipino and caucasion. But I don't try to pass as one, its just the race they think I am.

Everyday. People think I am white and I am Mexican. Mexicans speak spanish around me trying to be secretive and I am fluent in spanish. White people freak when they hear me speak spanish, blacks just laugh and say they thought I was just another white guy
