Why can't anybody just give the guy a break? Because there is a multi-billion dollar industry that survives on celebrity scandal and gossip. Who really gives a Shite, or a Jew for that matter. Has noone else out there ever said something or done something they were not proud of? As for the jewish people, they have survived a Mell of a lot worse and the druken babblings of one Catholic are probably not going to cause much damage. As for me, I have to admire they guy for addressing both his comments and his disease. I hope their a lots of Bill W.'s friends you feel the same way. Easy does it folks.

You're right on that point. The major problem that everyone is having here is that Mel Gibson is an influential person in our society. Things he says can carry some weight among people solely because of who he is. If I attack Muslims, I'm nobody and so it is highly unlikely that I'll change anyone's mind. Those who hate Muslims will continue to do so, those who don't will continue not to. But Mel Gibson being a celebrity gives his voice more weight than mine, it is possible that what he said may have turned someone else anti-semitic, or at least that is the reasoning behind the verbal attacks on him now. Now personally I don't think Mel Gibson carries that much weight behind his voice. If he changes anyone's mind solely by saying these things then that person is pretty weak-minded anyway and not likely to be any real threat to the Jewish race or faith. But not everyone thinks like that, so they go after Mel Gibson to make sure everyone knows that what he said may not be the best way to believe.

Love your avatar. I enjoyed Mel Gibson in Braveheart and Ransom. I enjoyed Bruce Willis in Die demanding and Pulp Fiction. yet there are such a number of different movies the place I liked the two of their performances.

No it's not. Because of the current media-view many find what is said against muslims acceptable. In my view both are wrong.

He's a regular guy, just like everybody else and is entitled to his opinion, no matter what you think of it.

HE'S JUST AN ALCOHOLIC AND IT WAS JUST THE BOOZE TALKING.......................TOO BAD IT HAD TO COME OUT OF HIS MOUTH. I REALLY USED TO RESPECT HIM, BUT IT WAS AS AN ACTOR...I GUESS WE REALLY NEED TO REMEMBER THAT THOSE COOL PEOPLE IN THE MOVIES WE WATCH ARE REALLY ONLY FOLKS LIKE US; SOME ARE UPSTANDING, OTHERS ARE JUNKIES, NUTS, DRUNKS, PERVERTS AND THE LIKE....
