Muslims are just as Materialistic as any Christians, Buddhists, Atheists, Pagans. Jews, Daoist, etc etc.
Materialism isnt about religion, its about how much we want to love ourselves with excess comforts and excess luxuries.
Communists by theory are supposed to enforce a common share of wealth, and still individuals wanted more and more wealth.
The biggest economies in the world, why do they still want to make more wealth? Are all of them Muslims? I doubt it
Materialism is similar to Greed, it is about wanting more without contentment.... even a poor person can be materialistic, because wanting more is inherent in all of us.
Babies grab for more food, even before chewing or finishing what they have and just keep stuffing their mouths.... sometimes up to the point where they throw up ( ewwww )... and NOT only muslim babies do that.... every baby does that...
QUestion is just how materialistic are we? Just for ourselves? Or up to the point where we harm, hate and cause devastation to masses of innocent people?

the best moslem is in moderation, not too spiritual , not too materialistic. The people you think are materialistic should be heard for their reasons,we can never judge the hearts of man. If you really think they are materialistics. One posssible clue is that you don't have the same wavelenght as them. People need money to pay the expenses, provide food for the home, need some services, etc.If they acquire it thru legal halal means, that's not materialistic. That's obligation, a jihad. But if they acquire money even breaking moral laws to get it, that's materialistic.

It seems to be the rule for most people to talk money. No matter how much people deplore capitalism, they are constantly scheming to make or steal more. The most ancient and biblical desert traders adorned their wives with precious metals and stones because that was their private bank and no woman would allow her jewelry to be stolen. It's time-honored to hoarde material wealth. So, I can't agree that it's just the Muslims you know,,, it's universal.

You can't be serious.Muslims are not materialistic, but like thier garments to be pretty. And that is not materialistic. The prophet muhamaad(pbuh) said you will see those who covet hoards of the world. And on the day of resurection they shall be tied around thier necks.Meaning he wants US to die with nothing but our deeds and islamic faith. As salamun alaikum
