I'm sorry to disagree with you on this but Christianity is not about being tested on your faith. Its about Jesus and what He did for us on the cross.
Faith is not belief without evidence. Their are many proofs for the existence of God and for those who are too lazy to investigate the word of God and what He says about us "giving reasons for the hope that is within us" I say, study to show yourselves approved. Belief in God is not meant to be an insult to our intelligence. God gave us a brain and expects us to use it.
If you cannot see that, what you have been wrongly convinced of, is blind faith I would exhort you to reconsider. The Spirit of God draws you and plays upon the heart of man and the volition (will) and conscience communicates to the inner person the truths of God and we respond in kind to the revelation of Him to our emotions and intellect. This is, at its least, the internal subjective evidence (proof) of God to the whole of our being.
Nothing blind about it.
Not that complicated.
But its all about Jesus who loves me...and yes...the bible tells me so. If we are to be the light of the world we need to re-examine our ideas of what goes on in the heart and mind when presented with the good news of the gospel of Christ. In a world that embraces moralistic relativism believe in the Lord because the bible says so won't get you an audience. Know what you believe and why you believe it, and know how the God of the bible answers the deepest need of man and presents the only unified field of knowledge that can include the whole of human experience.
Finally, learn how to engage your culture in meaningful dialogue that does not insult their intelligence. You can ask questions when they make statements about their world view.
Examples. They say they don't believe in God. Ask them what they mean by that? Forces them to be specific. What evidence have you that your conclusion is right? They have to examine why they believe what they believe.Keep them on the defense. Once they see that you are interested in them as a person they become more open to what you are trying to communicate to them and why it is that you believe as you do.
Remember no one cares what you know until they know that you care.

The people you are describing, they arn't finding faults in the bible, for there are none, but they are finding "excuses" for their reasons for not believing. You can't say that a non believer will never change.....almost all christians were once non believers! The world is full of Religeons where their followers believe merely on faith-with no proof. That is why we have the problems we face today! But Christianity is based on truth! Which in turn strengthens our faith! The bible encourages people to investigate it's claims...to search out the truth, to look at things with open eyes. God wants you to know the truth-to Really know it! So you can share it...and so it can make you strong! He doesn't want you to just form an opinion based on someone elses babblings!!

People have had some type of religious belief since the very beginning, so why pick on those who believe the Bible? Do you really think you're going to change the need for a society to have some sort of religious belief and in a higher power since that need has been around for thousands of years? If a person wants to view a doorknob as a higher power and it helps them to be better people, I say go for it. I'm not here to judge. If you don't agree, that's fine...then sit down and shut the f*ck up! Let people believe what they want and you believe what you want. Why does it bother you so much what people believe? Don't you people realize that by arguing about all that, you only fuel the Christian resolve to 'teach' you? If you folks were smart, you'd shut up and leave them alone.

Many people are weak. They fear death. They fear the unknown. They need something to beLIEve in. And Christians need to realize they don't have the only religion in the world. There's also been many different gods and goddess.
Who are you to say you are right and they are wrong ? Your god lets almost 10,000 children a day starve to death in the world each and every day of the year. Yet you still want to believe in talking snakes and 900 year old men...

Paul commended the Bereans for searching the scriptures to see if what he was teaching was true. Jesus when walking with the disciples taught them from the scriptures, as did Philip to the Ethiopian. Your right unbelievers can't be persuaded by "proof" but it is the Word of God that penetrates hearts.
Acts 17:11
These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.

Think about Hebrews 4:12 "The word of God is living and powerful, sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." The word of God is so powerful that it reaches beyond our inner soul and with or without our knowing it, can change our lives drastically.
Perhaps this will help explain the power of the word of God (with all the power that it holds, who are we not to want to read it daily and experience its effect on our life). As a devotion once said, "God's Word is very powerful and it is a living force of divine energy, which is highly effective at accomplishing God's purposes. People who read the word of God and allow it to direct their lives soon discover the awesome power of the Living Word. God's Word is not just another book. Every word from the Bible is filled with the same power that resurrected Christ from the dead and created the universe. It is able to penetrate the very depths of our subconscious being and to go into the center of our inner person. The word of God has the power to go beyond our conscious mind to the very core of our spiritual being and to cleanse, convict, and transform us. Sometimes we think everything is okay, but God's Word has the power to uncover secret attitudes and desires that are not pleasing to God. The Word of God can tear down strongholds of fear, failure, lust and negativity and then build powerful and new habit patterns that produce life, love, and victory."
With a book that holds that much power, we can learn so much. This is why Christians desire to read its every word.

Reading the Bible feeds a person's spirit. All flesh will wither away and die, but the spirit will live for eternity. The choice a person has is do they want to spend eternity in a lake of burning sulphur, or do they want to be constantly blessed with things so pure and life giving they're indescribable. Also - it is not necessarily any person's job to preach to the lost. Most times they have been scared away from church/the Bible/God by people who thought it was their right to stuff religion down their throat. The Bible says to love your neighbour, not to shove religion down their throat. If a person is predestined/chosen by God, they will have their spiritual eyes opened in His time. Love others and let them see Christ Jesus in you.

Proof will never be sufficient for some. There are some who still don't believe that American Astronauts landed on the moon in 1969! Even proof requires faith!

LOL----The Bible and Christianity do not complicate my life. On the contrary, it simplifies it. It's my source of strength and comfort. Without it, my life would probably be complicated and chaotic. I don't need to try to find "solid" proof. I have all the proof I need, right here in my heart. Any my faith is unshakable.

I think that is why "without faith, it is impossible to please God". He knew that when he sent his Son, people wouldn't believe, so we have this direction in the Bible. It is the same way today. Hurting people hurt others, no doubt. I think a lot of people who have chosen to be atheist or agnostic were exposed to "religion" (the man made stuff) and not necessarily the salvation of God; they were jaded in some way and now seek to hurt others because their expectations were ruined. I know quite a few people who refuse to be involed in church and therefore God - because they think God is church - because someone in the church hurt them. They choose to throw their salvation away based on one or two people.
I think you've made a great point here.
