In the year 1513 BCE, God commanded Moses to begin to keep permanent record.. and so began the writing of the scriptures. Over the course of the next 1,610 years, or until about 98 CE, different writers were inspired by Jehovah God to write. So that would make the Bible from it's beginnings approximately 3,519 years old.

The first books of the Bible were completed around 950 BC, and the last not until the second century AD. The Bible itself as a standard canon was put together during the late fourth century AD.

The story of Adam and Eve was Hebrew oral tradition that explained their origins in relation to God. Adam and Eve are representative of the first humans, whenever that occurred. It is unlikely, however, that even the Hebrews knew when the first humans were created. Their story was not meant so much to be an exact historical or scientific treatise as to explain how God was responsible for creation, how he loved his people, and how people have a tendancy towards sin. And this it accomplishes very well.

If you read some of the OT texts sometimes they include dates and so you can see that parts of the Bible existed even before those dates. Also, in some student bibles, an overview of each chapter in the Bible is given, and usually contains a date of when it was written. For example, Numbers is written about the Exodus by Moses. The Exodus occured around 1440 BC and so it had to have been written before Moses died, placing the time of recording around that same general time. Do not forget that the books of the Bible are not in chronological order (the book of Isaiah is roughly 200 years older than 1 Kings even though 1 Kings comes before Isaiah in the Bible).

THe bible is made up of many books (chapters) combined from the old ages to the new age. Usually scientists like to defy the creation as described in the Bible. Let's put it this way. It's up to you to believe God or man.

The earth could be millions of years old like scientist say. When God made the earth in 7 days. That COULD mean seven days in heaven is like 70 million years on earth. Who knows (besides God)?

Don't question the bible with evidence if you want to stay religious.

Now, if you want to know the truth, go ahead and do it. Just don't expect that you'll still be able to believe in 2000 year old superstitions.
