I'm a hypocrite, because I consider myself to be a Christian. I always read The Bible, but when I'm out with my friends I'm easly influence to do the opposite, then what I claim to be a Christian. I feel bad for what I do. I prayed about this, but I still feel the Guilt for what I do, and say. What should I do? Has any of you felt like this?

Everyone is a hypocrite, at some point, and if they deny it, then that is more hypocrisy to add to the list.

Don't worry about it, He'll forgive you. :)

There is a simpler way to resolve this than you think...Get new friends.
Proverbs tells us that a companion of fools will be destroyed and if you hang out with the wise you will be wise. Prov 13:20.

So, yes, you are being hypocritical. You need to find Christian friends who won't influence you to disobey God.

James 4:4

Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

There are many other scriptures, but I think you get the point. The guilt you feel is the Spirit telling you that you are behaving incorrectly and disobeying God. It is letting you know that you need to stop this behavior. Don't ignore it and obey what God is trying to tell you.

There were many people that decided to follow the world instead of Jesus. You can read about them throuought the gospels. So, now you are faced with the same confrontation. Will you choose to be a friend of Jesus, or those that are leading you away from Him?

Don't make your decisions based on what a book says. Look inside yourself. Decide what is right and wrong. Decide what kind of a person you want to be. This is most likely why you feel like you are failing. You are trying to follow written instructions. In order to succeed, you have to understand what you are trying to do and why. Why is this important to you? Are you trying to be a good Christian? Or a good person? Are you trying to "behave" just because it is expected of you, or because that is what you truly want to do?
Use your own common sense.
And the most important forgiveness you need to seek is your own....

I feel like that all the time. All I can say is keep praying about it and pray that God give you the strength to stand up as a Christian no matter what your friends think.

1 Corinthians 15:33 says that bad association spoils useful habits. Perhaps you would do well to make friends who love God the way you do rather than the ones you currently have who seem to be friends with the world instead.

We all feel ashamed of what we do or say at times.

But, we are human and susceptible to sin. God loves us all, but knows our weaknesses. He loves us even though we sin, but is not pleased with the sinning. He makes a way for us to cleanse ourselves by His forgiveness.

If we pray to God and repent our sins, He is pleased with us. Asking forgiveness and comfort from the torment that it has caused us is a gift that God will gladly share. You can feel good about yourself knowing that God is with you and wants your love and your faith in His power. He will forgive and redeem you!

Our God is an awesome God!

Guilt, from what I understand, is a big part of modern christianity. Especially catholicism

You haven't really made that commitment from your 'heart' to GOD!.., you may not be ready to be a christian right now in your life!........To avoid any more guilt & shame upon yourself It would be to your benefit to talk to your Pastor/Minister about this, they understand and they can help you further! after all, that's why GOD Anointed & Placed His Ministers In The Ministry! (Eph 4: 10-16).....GOD Bless!....

Do you believe in Christ? If you do, you're Christian: work with that.

If not, that's fine too. Or it is once you realize you don't, and don't have to feel guilty for not.

Don't sweat the small stuff. Just don't accidentally get drunk, drive, and kill someone.

You have not fully given yourself over to God. The Bible also tells us that if sinners entice thee , be seperate.
