And to "Isaac" below.

You must be the only one to think the country hasnt had any attacks since 9-11.

Id call Anthrax on capital hill, our mail system and media an attack

Id call those Greyhound Buses hijacked across the nation at knifepoint and crashed an attack even if the media hushed them up.

Id call the plane shot down over long island an attack..shhh hush hush, the people cant hear anymore about it.

Id call the explosions at oil refineries in the u.s.a. that has been swept under the rug to avoid panic...attacks.

Attack Attack Attack.

Just because you go along with your eyes, ears blocked doesnt mean it isnt hapenning.

Israel and the US are inexorably connected ever since the founding of Israel in 1948. It is there because it Israel was 'awarded' to Jews after the holocaust of World War II. It is mostly America's fault that it is there. It quickly turned into a military occupation of which is highly condemned by the UN but which the Uniteed States still supports with providing money, aid, warplanes, missiles, bombs etc. They partly care because they have an obligation to but they care also, because they are seen by the US now as the American military arm in the Middle East, and it keeps the area unstable enough for the control of the oil to be a prize still up for grabs.

There are several reasons:

First of all, Morality. The US (unlike many European countries) is a moral, just country, and we believe in FAIR treatment for all. When we see little Israel (5 million people) surrounded by 22 countries (with almost 1 Billion Muslims and Arabs) that are all in a declared war with Israel, and have sworn to destroy it, we scream:"Hold it. This is not fair."

Morality 2: Israel is the only true democracy in the entire region, with real rights for all it's citizens. (The Deputy Speaker of the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, is an Arab).

Kinship. We identify with them as culturally the US and Israel are in many ways very similar.

Religion: The bible many times has stated that God gave the land of Israel to the Jews.

Politics: Israel has proven to be the best ally of the United States in the International arena, and has voted with us in the UN more than any other country in the world.

There is a lot more, but I figure this is a start.

Get off that cloud! Do you think there's altruism in Bush, Condi, Cheney and friends? The US doesn't care about the Middle East. The US cares about geopolitical dominance, control of energy resources and the imposition of transnational capital.
And it seems that the countries you just mentioned are not that insignificant, after all.

Because many of them are holding oil fields that they nationalized from western companies. Now those dictators have tons of money - via stolen property - and plenty of idle time to spread some pretty bad ideas. Those ideas threaten the US (Jihad / 9-11) and many other countries worthy of our support, not the least of which is Israel.

Altruism is the festering primordialism that underlies most problems on this planet - including the Jihadists. My support for Israel is not a sacrificial deal; it in my selfish interests to see freer cultures beat the crap out of statist entities rather than the other way around.

It is a holy war. The place where Jesus comes back and saves. Still, its about money and oil at this point, for the US. But if you read Revelations, you will learn, the US is not a major player. Therefore, some people suggest, something major will happen between now and the end of times, for the US to be taken out of the equation. Thus, we need to watch, we need to be active, we need to keep the terrorists on their own soil, for as long as we can. Eventually, it will come to us, on our soil. Pay attention, prophecy is unfolding.

nicely, the US is operating on a deficit as is, so the country don't have the funds to pay for something like that in the present day. Wait till the disaster is over and reform the improvement the present gadget before you're making it higher. Obama isn't waiting to do something on the dimensions of the NHS contained in the united kingdom in the time of his turn in workplace regardless of the reality that if he makes purely the right judgements. except your prepared to lose hyperpower prestige?

Am I the only one that remembers 9/11?

Am I the only one that remembers that Bush said we are going over there to weaken terrorism in the Middle East so as to immobilize it where it originates to weaken the chance of them being able to strike the U.S like they did on 9/11?

Am I the only one that realizes that we haven’t been attacked since 9/11?

Am I the only one that sees the terrorists in action every day in Iraq????
Helloooooo!!!!!!! You think that may be why we are there?????????

Am I the only one that sees that terrorism most definantly originates in the Middle East?

Am I the only one that sees that terrorists are all over the Middle East not just Afghanistan???

SO THEN I ASK YOU FINALLY, AM I THE ONLY ONE THAT SEES THE CORRELATION BETWEEN STABILIZING THE MIDDLE EAST SO AS TO NIP IT IN THE BUD BEFORE IT REACHES ALL TIME HIGHS HERE IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA?
Every time Al-Qaeda claims an attack in Iraq they validate what Bush said "We have to crush the terrorists where they originate, so as to make American citizens safer."

And its not we shouldn’t be messing with them, its they shouldn’t have messed with us!!!!!!!!!!!!
And remember, it’s our soldiers putting they’re lives on the line everyday that you even have the right to whine about the war. Why don’t you thank Bush for another day that this war has brought you a step closer to long term safety and stability. Ensuring that you can go to Starbucks during your brunch everyday and whine about it for years and years to come without being interrupted by suicide bombers that claim to be peaceful right before press a button on there suicide vest.

Israel is one of our allies so therefore we support them. They are fighting terrorist right now which helps us in the war on terror. We are in Iraq because Saddam was not cooperating and we suspected he had WMD. The reason we should care because middle eastern countries especially Muslim ones harbor terrorist like Hezbollah and Al-Qaeda. These terrorist hate America and our allies. And they will do any thing to kill inoccent Americans. THAT IS WHY YOU SHOULD CARE! HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN 9/11, WHEN THOUSANDS OF AMERICANS LOST THEIR LIVES.

Besides the fact that 70% of the oil we use comes from there, everyone knows that the middle east will be where Armageddon will occur. It's good to keep an eye on it.
