someone broke into there home in tenn. and killed him,im from jackson co kentucky where he was born and raised. they have a the stringbean memorial here ever year. its fun for the hole family people come from all over the US to the festival. for more infro go to infro on kentucky celeb or tourist info.

He and his wife were murdered. Two guys broke in his house, looking for cash. Strinbean had the reputation of leaving large amounts of cash in his home and not using a bank. These two local morons got news of that and went to rob him and they killed them both. How very sad.
