Perry McCarthy on life as 'The Stig!'
He's raced in Formula One, competed in the legendary Le Mans 24 hours and battled for honours at Sebring, but in the career of Perry McCarthy – dubbed by some as 'the world's unluckiest driver' – one thing must surely stand head and shoulders above the rest.
And that thing? Taking on the role of the mysterious 'Stig' on popular British motoring show Top Gear.
Crash.net took the chance to catch up with Perry recently, to talk about life as the 'Stig' and find out just how easy it is trying to teach a celebrity to become a race driver…

i love top gear never miss it ! and I'm sad to say Ill probably watch the repeat tomorrow as well !
its just the funniest thing to do with cars ever , have you watched tonight's van racing and door fixing etc ? you must be very dry if you don't find the programme funny , informative and generally good bloody telly ..
top gear is the best and by far the best programme on a Sunday night ...

Clarkson rocks! Except when he's dissing bikes. I read somewhere he once went round Donington on the back of a Ducati 916, ridden by a GP rider - supposedly, Clarkson screamed all the way. That's why he doesn't like motorbikes, they scare him.

Well this will seem quite sad to you, Im a woman, dont drive and yet i love the programme. Richard Hammond is delicious. Jeremy Clarkson, is quite funny really. Try watching it.

Now't.... we just aren't sad gits like you, and it's about the only quality show British TV makes these days apart from "The Sky at Night" & ITV-F1

nothing is wrong with us. if you dont like top gear you are a dumb prick with no sense of humour. tkae a hike, jump off a cliff, get runover by a bus or do whatever else loners like you do. thank you

i hate cars.but i love top gear ,it's very funny and richard hammond is a total fox

Its a great show,shows the lighter side of motoring !Many people who have no inyerest in cars or motoring find it entertaining !
