i'm betting i'm a little older than you, but i havent watched mtv since i was like 14. when beavis and butthead stopped, and they stopped doing the rock and jock softball game, i gave up on them.
there have been a few good shows since, but mtv, "MUSIC television" no longer has any interest in music. it should be called "spoiled rich kid tv" now. its nothing but the same reality crap over and over.
and when they do have a show that does pretty well, they wait until theres about 15 episodes, and they just play them nonstop every day until even those of us that like them are really sick of it and the public loses all interest in the show. they really dont care about making a quality program that will last, they very transparently make things that fit whats popular this year and dont care about anything else than trying to make sure they're still "trendy" even though theres no value in it at all.
