Think about it, how much money is calling and text fees are the phone companies making? These shows are just a scam for them to quadruple their money.

It IS a scam. Sprint and Nextell are loving it.
The new McDonald's game, Pirates of the Carribean, is another cell phone scam. Think about it, you peel off the sticker, and it gives you a number. You have to send a text message with that number to McDonald's and they tell you if you won or not. This means that the winning stickers look exactly like the losing stickers. I bet you 85% of the winning stickers get thrown away. Less prizes to give away = scam contest.

Its not a scam, its called CROSS MARKETING! - Its done all the time. McDonald's happy meals comes with Pirates of the Caribbean 2 or Cars toys to make kids or parents want to see the movie or want to see it even more or to buy other merchandise related to it. A different sameness.

Reality TV cheap to make and fantastic profit for everyone. Hence the reason there are so many of them now days. Surprised the actors union hasn't thrown a fit ;-)

I don't waste my time watching the shows, and I sure don't waste my money to message to them. I think you are probably right about that..who benefits? The phone companies of course..that can't be an accident..

I would guess that most people who watch do not actually call in. It's like American Idol. Hardly anyone actually votes for that either, or maybe they just don't admit to it. Everyone I know who watches either one says they don't vote.
