If there is something that isn't funny there's a big laugh in the background!

I know it is usually the same three laugh sets that they play over and over! Why can't it be filmed in front of an audience???

In my opinion, the best TV comedies have no laugh-tracks, or actually go through the trouble to bring in a live audience

God, that is annoying!!! Especially when they put in shows like Darma and Greg. If you have a real audience, fine let them laugh. But don't fake popularity with a repeating tape.

i always have disliked it .
in the 60s they tried an experiment by not using the laugh track ........but they didn't replace it with music or anything else ........it was kinda strange . if they had substituted some music , it would've been fine , and we might not be forced to listen to those laugh tracks for all these years .
maybe they feel they have to alert us when to laugh ...........why don't they try writing better material to begin with ........?

You're right that it is annoying; but they do it for subliminal purposes:
They want people to laugh, and if you hear someone else laughing, you may laugh, too; whether or not its funny.
