Doesn't necessarily have to be somebody but something-doesn't necessarily have to be naked but protected-however I do appreciate the added details you offered as a clearer recourse and will tell you that the metaphore is outstanding-but my first impulse wouldn't be to run into the house-mine would be to find out the source and cut it off-mine would be to investigate and discover the alternatives to try to remedy the situation and rectify the problem-I have done this with religions and have investigated The Evidence and what I have found is that those that continue to believe in the manifests that promote a superior being are the first ones to prejudice others readily and willingly-they even argue among their own about what is right and wrong and so I have found that religion deny's one humility-we men-of mankind-have discovered The truth-and that is A House Doesn't burn if it is carefully watched!

I don't know if I get this question...are there no fire fighters around? If not, I probably would call them and then get others to help me look for people inside the house. I wouldn't do it on my own because I don't think I'm strong enough to do so. If this is about worrying if the people inside are Christians or not...sure I would be concerned...afterward. That wouldn't be why I would try and save them though. Saving them would be an action I would do because I would want it done to me...it's like a gut reaction to help someone in need.

It would be kinda stupid to run into a burning house if I had no reason to expect anyone was in there. If there was someone in there and I thought I could help them, then yes I'd do what I could. I'm actually really afraid of fire since I burned my hand really badly as a child plus I'm not very strong (would be hard to carry an adult out)...so I think my trying to help would probably end up just adding to how many people needed to be rescued.

I don't see the relevance of religion (or lack of) to the question...but no, I would not run into a burning building without knowing or there being a high % chance, that someone was in there and needed help getting out...

I'm not a fire fighter, I don't have the equipment or skill to handle going into a burning building period...however if I KNEW someone needed help, and I might be the one who could make a difference, yes...I would take that risk...

I would only run into a burning house if I knew there was someone in there, and even then I would only go in if I thought I had a pretty good chance at getting them and myself out alive. I have kids I need to stay alive for, so I won't sacrifice the futures of my kids for something that I'm not sure about.

Um, no. I wouldn't run into a burning house unless I knew for sure where someone was, that I could get to them, and then get out again.

That's what the fire department is for. It is very stupid and dangerous to run into a burning building, even to save someone, because it is more likely that you will just end up getting yourself killed. That doesn't help anyone except the embalmers and coffin companies.

I'm a religious believer and I would NOT run into a burning house if I was not sure anyone was in it.

However, I would if I knew for sure someone was in it.

Without a reasonable belief that someone was still in the house, it wouldn't make sense to go inside.

no. as a christian and a soldier i have put my life in harms way many, many times. from firefights to burning buildings and vehicles. i helped my fellow soldiers rescue our brothers and sisters on the battlefield and have even gone into a burning building (we caught it on fire when we fragged it) and pulled out the wounded and dead insurgents.

but i would not run (blindly) into any house, unless it is my own home or my children's or parents. some friends maybe, but they would have to be very good friends indeed.

btw - i am christian.

I don't see the point. So no I wouldn't. Now tell me there is a kitten or a dog maybe even a person and I'm off running.
