This question is for all those in the Pro-War crowd. Since the Iraqi war is so critical to our nation's security, (by fighting them in Bagdad, we don't have to fight them in Topeka) you are doing the right thing and urgently insisting that your children enlist to serve in Iraq, aren't you?
If you're not demanding that they serve in the armed forces, that would be indicative of some doubt concerning the security issue and even some thought that the war was probably started for oil, or Halliburton, or Israel, or thrills, or someone's ego needed some boosting. Wouldn't it?

Well, you have a rather glaring flaw in your argument. While your attempt to cateqorize all republicans as hypocrites is duly noted, maybe you should think your reasoning through a little more. Maybe you don't have kids, but a parents main concern is thier child. It doesn't matter how they vote. People fight for what they believe in, they don't offer thier children up as a sacrifice. I imagine (and I apologize if I'm wrong) that you are now jumping to the conclusion that I'm pro bush and pro war. I'll take this chance to point out that you're wrong. I don't know why we're in this war. As time goes on I have more and more doubts, like many Americans. However, I don't see the point in judging a whole group of people for not sharing my beliefs. And I especially don't see the point of asking these same people to offer up the ones they love the most. Lately, that is what I've noticed happens so much. The people who seem to be for peace, love, and claim to have such open minds are often just as quick to jump in and condemn other people for not having the same mindset. Thank you to anyone who is serving our country, republican or not.

well, my children are both 3, so i won't be demanding that they serve. however, if they were of age to enlist, i would not demand that they do anything. i would hope that i would have raised them with an understanding of what it means to be free, how we became a free country in the first place, and what an honor it is to defend this country and everyone in it (including liberals). i would also be sure that i have taught my children that war sucks and that war requires that some people die, that by enlisting in the service you are signing up to defend this country - not just get a free education, and that we cannot ever really know the truth when the government is involved (liberals or conservatives).
but that one fact remains, we are still a great country, a free country and sometimes that alone is worth fighting for.
okay, i'm stepping down off my soapbox now.

This type of answer is exactly why I do not respect many people who decide to voice their political opinion. It is my belief that if you are going to state your opinion about politics for your own sake you should make it an educated opinion. This type of response only makes the answerer look foolish and naive.
The question should be "Are you yourself enlisting?" rather than whether Republicans are urging their children to enlist. The whole point of this country is that people have the ability to make their own choices. No one ever said that war was safe or secure. Whether the war is for a just or unjust reason there are risks that must be taken. No parents want to see their children hurt, but all the parents of soldiers I have known have fully supported their children's' choices.

Since we have an ALL VOLUNTEER MILITARY, it would be their choice to serve or not to serve. I would support them no matter the decision. George Bush's daughters do not serve b/c again, it is an all volunteer military.
Your Michael Moore question is about 35 years old, and would be relevant in the day when we used to have a draft.
I served in the military, I served in Iraq, I am a Conservative Republican. The reason your hero al gore didn't want the Florida overseas ballots counted because they were Conservative Republican ballots. "Every vote counts, and every vote counted!"
So your question about trying to insinuate that Conservative Republicans are not really supporting the war in Iraq is false, they are the ones fighting it. So you America-Hating liberals can continue to exercise your hatred.

My children are to young but I hope by dealing with this now that they wont have to in the future. Some one in my family has fought in every world war and most conflicts before and after. They have been Dem's and repubs alike. Your blanket statement that only republicans fight or should be the only ones to fight is ridiculous at best.(united we stand devided we fall)
