Ok, I've been wrestling with this for a while now and I think I'm ready to take the plunge. I'm getting a "murse". Yes, a purse for men. I’ve been carrying around way too much stuff and it's getting annoying. I just broke my cell phone because the belt clip caught on the car door and it fell. I've just had it and it's time I cinched up the old boys downstairs and headed into a brave new world. With my "crack"berry, cell phone, wallet, keys, and a host of other items that need to be in tow, I just need a better mousetrap.
My wife has generously agreed to not walk 10 paces in front or behind me which should help wit the stares and pointing a bit, but I fear a certain period of adjustment coming when I'm flying solo.
Any other brave men out there willing to make a fashion statement with me? Anyone?
Ohh, and as usual; I'll be asking the women to pick something stylish for me. No leather or spikes please and I think I’m a winter color! :)

I'm thinking something like this http://bandwagonjumping.typepad.com/the_dirt/images/murse.jpg would do the trick. Rugged, yet practical, and "unpurselike."

I LOVE IT! I've been suggesting this idea to all my guy friends for the exact reasons you stated. AND, my roommate (who's a guy) and I were just talking about this two days ago! Although we thought all of the design possibilities were already used on women's accessories, we conveniently found a near-perfect solution for guys like you when we were walking around in Macy's on Saturday.
Tumi makes a great purse for men! And you really can't get more stylish, functional, or manly than Tumi! (I don't even work for them!) It's going to cost you, as their stuff is pricey, but what's a few dollars if you can still salvage your pride?
Check this one out (it's the one we saw in the store):

lol!
I said about 10 years that guys would soon carry purses! They have too much stuff. Every pocket is bulging with something and things clipped to their belt.
Please do not get anything "girly". Best if it is small and looks like a day planner or maybe large like it is holding a notepad.
Good Luck!
ADDED
Kind of like a messenger bag. Its OK. If you can do with out the strap it would look better.

I carry a black leather "bag" to organize my writing students' papers. I can call it a soft briefcase, a bag, or anything else, but it's really just a big purse. I have no problem with that. It's convenient and doesn't threaten my "manhood" in the slightest.

The Cats human could locate it confusing to maintain a as we communicate face and not communicate approximately it. The Cats human is questioning of buying for a fannypac with a compartment for her gun. there is likewise a handbag with a secret compartment, even with the undeniable fact that it is so grotesque! Her guy likes to positioned on his "gun bra" decrease than his shirt while they go away the homestead. He has a enable to hold so he does. You never be attentive to while some crazed mormon is gonna circulate loopy (returned!) and initiate taking photos human beings on the mall (returned!) or at a eating place ( returned!) and we choose ours to shield ourselves and positioned across the crazed mormon down in the past he kills extra human beings (like on the mall and the eating place, returned!). yet a guy with a fanny p.c.. or a guy-handbag? i think of that's TOO humorous to no longer make relaxing of. i will make my canines positioned on a p.c.. however.

Not on your life! I wouldn't be caught dead with a purse unless I'm holding it for my wife. That is the ONLY way a purse finds it's way into my hands.
Do yourself a favor -- get a knapsack.

I don't need to carry around make-up, brushes, and tampons. Everything I carry all fits in my wallet or my organizer.
Why would a guy need a purse?
