Honestly, I think it's like putting a band-aid on a bullet wound. Our white house, once again, sat on it's hands too long. The hesitation factor of this administration is costing scores of innoncent lives.
Our credibility, worldwide, has been damaged to the point that even our allies scoff at us. At this point, it's been reported that Ms. Rice's tardy visit won't be acknowledged by the heads of state as anything but a social visit.

Regretably, our country is viewed as the terrorist by many middle eastern countries. We need to be a lot less bloodthirsty and more benevolent towards these people.

You don't "win hearts and minds" by murdering women and children.

I think she is unqualified to be Secretary of State and that she only has the job because of her unconditional support of GWB. Powell isn't there now because he wasn't a "yes" man. I have no respect for her. Where was her concern after Hurricane Katrina? She wasn't concerned because no one in the Bush administration was concerned. She is there now because Bush sees it as a chance to look like a real stateman without actually doing anything constructive. I guess I'm puzzled at the notion that she can be concerned over Lebanon but totally oblivious to the fact that that many civilans die daily in Iraq. No, she can't act concerned about Iraq because it's GWB's fault and she wouldn't criticize him.

While this totally benefits her approval rating/publicity, I guess it goes back to the basic foundation of our Constitution - the government's role is to help the people. So, props to Condolezza Rice, but her trip to Lebanon does seem to have been expected.

lol she had to do it, somebody had to and shes already been there its not like she actually cares it just makes her look good. you wanna know about brave? all the Lebanese citizens who are trapped there and moving and hiding whenever they can so as not to get blown up, thats brave. to go there in a fancy first class jet and have nice clothes and something to return to is not brave.

I think Condi can do little more that the rest of us. People choose violence and all the talk in the world can't change that.

Well, it is sort of like her job. I would be offended if she didn't, but I still respect her for what she is about to embark on.
