Game Boy Player is the accessory that plays all Game Boy games. A Game Boy Advance has the ability to play both North American and Japanese cartridges. However, Gamecube doesn't play Japanese game discs. The North American Game Boy Player firsts reads the disc, and then starts the Game Boy Player. So it may be possible that Japanese games still work on it, but I am not sure. If anyone could please cite a source I could read when answering the question. Thanks!
