in the sims 2 university, how do I make or edit dorms for my sims in build mode?

When I click on dorms with no sims inside I cannot edit them in build mode. I want to make my own dorm, how do I do it? I see dorms that other people have made when i go to the sims 2 website, so I know its possible.

You have to be on the dorm lot. Open the cheat dialogue box. (Ctrl, Shift, C on the keyboard). Type:

boolprop dormspecifictoolsdisabled false

This allows you to modify an existing dorm in build mode. Don't forget to turn off the cheat when you are done. Open cheat dialogue box and type:

boolprop dormspecifictoolsdisabled true

To make your own dorms: make a new residential lot, build your dorm. When you're done, open the cheat dialogue box and type:

changeLotZoning dorm

you can also make greek house, secret society, community, by using the same cheat and replacing dorm with greek, secret society, community. Save the lot and go to neighborhood view. Now it is ready to move into. Secret society lots are NOT visible in neighborhood view (they are secret... lol).
