You can never really know because she may have her own way of wanting to be asked. The smartest thing for you to do is to ask someone that, she trusts, that you can trust to not tell her to get her talking about marriage and ask her what the perfect way for her to be asked would be. THEN, don't do it exactly like that. Add a little bit of you to it so that it's not exactly like what she wanted. Why? Because a) she'll know you asked and it won't be as spontaneous and special at the moment; and b) she wants to marry YOU so add some of YOU to it.
That's the best I've got for you.
PS When I was asked...it was just he and I on the couch and he just began telling me how much he loved me and what he loved about me...then he closed with "and that's why I hope you'll marry me" and slipped the ring in my hand that was in his hand. It was perfect.

I always thought it would be nice to spend an ordinary evening together...nothing special....then the next morning while you're both still waking up just say....oh yeah by the way I love you with all my heart and I want us to spend the rest of our lives together....would you marry me and then take the ring from under the mattress on her side of the bed where she's been sleeping all night. Sorry...I'm a romantic.

Have a real nice pretty diamond ring.
A bottle of wine and dinner (that you prepared and cooked).
After dinner and home made dessert...........pour some wine in a pretty goblet with the ice (diamond ring) in the glass and watch her as she sips the wine and discovers her ring sitting in the bottom..............then sincerely and loving look into her eyes and ask her to marry you............aaahhhhhhhhhhhh!
(the ring should be put in the glass while she is not looking), maybe have another goblet ready and pour into that one.

My husband... he picked me up in the Biggiest Limo (the one that the sports players ride)... took me to an expensive Rotating Restraunt so we could see the city... and a Carriage Ride... not to mention he bought me an expensive gown the night before to wear... and a dozen roses.

ok 2 ways that i know of, take her 2 her fave restaraunt and order 1 dozen roses, propes before dessert . shell luv it. or cook her dinner @ home light as many candles as u can and lay down some rose petals shell luv either 1

Go all out and do it BIG!! Make it something so grand and big that you'll have other people talking about it.
When I say big I mean like stadium filled and announce it on the teletron type thing, you know BIG!
