I got the car and I replaced the battery because it was dead. All of the electrical worked, but the engine would'nt turn over. I have replaced the solenoid, and it still did not work. Then none of my lights or anything was working. My buddy jumped the solenoid and the engine tried to turn over but it couldnt fire. He thinks that it is the Fuseable Link, but i dont know. I dont even think that it was connected to start out with. We have gone through 4 startes, and I have a new solenoid, should i try and do that. Please help me it is my only way of transportation, and i think that this could be a sweet ride.

if you want to know if the problem is in the wire harness itself, try this. take a positive lead from the battery to the igniton side of distributer cap. (fused). then take a pos. lead from battery to the pos. side of starter, and then ground the starter out. if the engine rolls over, or starts, then you wire harness from your switch to your starter and or distributer cap is screwed up. now, if your engine rolls over, but dont start, check for spark. if no spark then change your distributer/ coil pack, and your rotor. this should do the trick. it always works for my chevys! lol

If it starts from the starter solenoid, the neutral switch might be bad. Check the engine ground cable also.

It could be the link, the spark plugs, or a wire harness. Those are all pretty simple repairs so if you try each of those and they don't work, your best bet is to take it to a mechanic so they can hook it up to their diagnostic computer.

Edit: Haha I see this conversation is going over some people's heads.

You should put gas in the gas tank. It is probably located near the rear of the vehicle. It is just a hole that is probable covered with a cap. Remove the cap and insert fuel into this hole. You can get gas at many places called "gas stations". It's expensive but it should fix your problem.

Everytime I have ever had this problem it has been the starter and/or battery.

But hey! I'm no mechanic! I'd take it to the shop buddy!

Hope this helps!

Make sure you have the battery wires screwed in tight!!!

It's a common mistake.

You'll need to put a Quarter in the little box next to it.

How about towing it to the mechanic instead of spending money on things that it may not even need. =)
