I remember when I was about 16 there was a group of illegal Mexican aliens that lived across the street from me. It was about a dozen men packed into one small apt. Well these men would constantly harass any women that walked anywhere near them. A woman couldn't get within eyesight of them without being hissed at, whistled at, or without having some toad-looking man try to hit on them (eww). As time went by they started getting ruder and ruder to everyone. To the point where one day, for absolutely NO reason one of them, a grown man, decided he was going to flip me off. No reason. What-so-ever.
So here we have a group of illegal aliens who are constantly sexually harassing almost every woman in the neighborhood, being rude everyone, breaking glass corona bottles in the street, playing that god-awful noise they call music blaringly loud in the middle of the night, and now trying to start fights with 16 year old children, (speaking of children these mens sexual harassment wasn't limited to grown woman, they would harass just about any female above the age of 9).
Well this degenerate got his fight. If that's what you want to call it. I'm Warm Springs. Even at 16 I wasn't small or weak. Well here's how he hurt me, after I socked him on the jaw and knocked him out, I continued to beat the living sh*t out of this toad-man. I would have stopped except for the fact that when I was chocking him he tried to hit me in the balls. That made me see red. That's that only time I can ever remember being that pissed as to see red. After my brother pulled me off I realized that the skin on my knuckle had come off on his teeth when they came through his lip. That's how he hurt me. Another way he hurt me, I suppose, is the emotional trauma of a grown man trying to start a fight with me, a child. OK, OK, that part didn't traumatize me (it actually helped my reputation in the neighborhood).
That same summer I tried to get a job picking apples (I was 16, I wanted a spiffy new Playstation). Well basically the guy doing the hiring laughed at me. I looked around, noticed that everyone working there were illegal Mexican immigrants, and that everyone else trying to get the job were illegals(maybe not all but most, i'm sure). One of these illegals cost me, an American in the US, a job.
Let's see, illegal Mexican alien drug dealers also ruined my childhood. I'll tell you how. :) When I was about ten my family lived in a duplex. The people who lived next door WERE illegal Mexican aliens. Well one day, I went out side in my front yard to play. In my front yard I could see directly into these peoples bedroom window. Well, through this window that day, I saw the man who lived there, an illegal Mexican alien, with a huge platter on which he was wrapping up little packets of heroin and stacking them. I didn't know crap about drugs back then, but thinking back, this guy had a LOT of dope there. He didn't see me. Someone knocked on his front door, and he left the room. I reached into his room (there was a hole in the screen) and took one of the packets. I took it to my mom, who called the cops. He was arrested. Well after that, at night these people would walk by my mothers window and talk about how they were going to rape and kill her and my cousin (a girl who was living with us). It got so bad, my other was so afraid that she ended up borrowing a SAR-1 from my uncle to protect us. We were harassed and harassed by the damn illegals, so bad that we ended up leaving the city. We traveled around a lot, it took a few good years for us to find another place to permanently settle down. But all the moving we had to do due to these illegal scumbags stunted me socially for years, as everytime I would start making friends in a new school we had to move. I eventually quit trying to make friends and spent a few years of my life a loner. It ruined my childhood.
I'm not sure if this one counts as "direct" but it was direct enough. I remember an incident with ANOTHER illegal who started a fight with me because he thought I was boning his GF (maybe I was, maybe I wasn't. All I can say for sure is, i'm sure my peepee is a lot bigger then his ;).
Well after I beat the living sh*t out of him he went and told all his little friends that he was jumped (I guess he needed some excuse for being on the ground in a ball yelling "mama! mama!" while I was cracking his nasty weak little ribs with my elbows) by me and some people. Instead of hitting me up with his bullsh*t (he knew where I lived, hell he even somehow got my phone # that's how it all started with him talking mad sh*t to me over the phone, out of nowhere, I didn't even know who he WAS at that point) him and a few of his sureno friends kidnapped a friend of mine, someone who hadn't even been there when I beat this guys azz, because he told them he was one of the people who jumped him. They drove him out to the middle of nowhere and told him to run, then they started shooting at him. He was shot in the leg. The guy whos azz I beat, real name Elias, identity theft name Hector, a meth dealer BTW, fled back across the border. This illegal Mexican alien ended up starting a fight with me, tried to get his own homies after me, probably to shoot me, (didn't work, I guess I was better friends with his homies then he was, LMAO), then ended up shooting my friend and fleeing to Mexico. So that is another way an illegal *tried* to hurt me.
Let's see, there was also the time when another person who I can only speculate was an illegal by the way he was dressed and the fact that he couldn't speak a lick of English, even to the police later, cut in line at Safeway with a couple of his friends right in front of my grandmother. They do that kind of crap all the time, mainly to old people, women, etc. I guess he didn't know that I was her grandson. He just thought it was another helpless old 75 year old lady by herself, because all he did is look up at me shocked and stupid when I told him to get his azz to the back of the line. When he didn't do sh*t but turn around and say something to his friends in Spanish while doing a faggity little giggle, I backhanded his face as hard as I could then shoved him on the ground. He didn't do sh*t but keep scooting back from me on his azz. The toad is lucky my grandmother threw herself in-between me and him and stopped me. Because I was gonna stomp on his damn head at least once. The people who worked there called the cops, I ended up going to jail for that one. I was also banned from that store. That's another way I was hurt by rude, disrespectful illegals.
There have been more incidents then what i've put down. But i've typed enough. I gave you my answer.
Thanks for asking this question because looking back on what I just typed, i've realized that the bulk of my experience with illegal aliens is not only negative, but violent. And it has always been started by them. I didn't realize how much they HAVE wronged me and my family until just now, while putting it all down. On the flip side of that coin though, I HAVE known a few illegal Mexican immigrants, who couldn't speak English for crap, but were cool as hell. Not rude, not violent drug dealers who harass single mother and elderly grandmothers, but just people like you and me. These are people who I would still consider my friends to this day. But just because they are my friends though doesn't mean they are anymore above the law then I am.

I am LEGAL immigrant from Germany(jumped through all the hoops ,signed the Guest book and paid my Application Fees) anytime i meet someone the first question is "are you legal?" Very Insulting! I learned English before i Moved to the States,my Children speak only English and you wont see a German Flag outside of my House(ok World cup was an exception).I work at a Shelter for Homeless and Battered Women, deal every day with non English speaking illegals, now i am required to learn Spanish in Order to keep my Job.Nobody will reimburse me for the cost of the class or the Time i will have to take off work.I watch everyday how Illegals cheat the System and get away with it.It is just not fair to all the People who go through the legal Process, pay taxes and adopt their new Countries Language and Customs

New York is one of the big problem areas for illegals. Anyway, because they put such a burden on the health care system, funding jas been cut for medicaid to senior citizens. Many needed services for my poor grandmother who is near catatonic with Alzheimer's have been removed. Luckily, my family is able to take up the slack or she would be home alone, covered in feces because there are no care workers for her. That money goes to pay for illegals to have more babies they can't support.
What type of children are these? Well, let me explain it this way. Over the last 5 years, the middle school around the corner from where my grandmother lives has become a very violent place. Shootings and rapes committed by the children of illegals are commonplace, even though there are actual police stationed there now. At night, these gang members (that's what they are), prowl the streets looking for victims so you can't go out at night...ever. 100% of these people are illegals.
On a more personal note, I actually live in NJ. My health insurance is about $550 a month. This is mandated by a state law that says all people must pay the same amount. The system is nearly bankrupt. Why is this happening? NJ happens to be one of the biggest problem states for illegal aliens. They come to hospitals and use up billions of dollars of health care services and then skip town without paying. Guess who has to pay for that?

I have never been hurt by an illegal immigrant, but for some reason, I dislike mexicans, cubans, and dominicans. I think it's because they are the kind of people that you would mostly find in jail, or have at least commited a crime.
And to tell you other people, they have rights to live where they want to, it's just these laws that say they can't. Like it's their fault they were born somewhere else.
I don't like the people that have so many children. If you can't support them, why have them? They're all proably by accident if you catch my drift...
The reason that I don't like SOME of them is because of how they live. They're always comiting crimes, why? What the hell is their problem?
I don't really care about the whole ecconomical situation, I'm only 12, (yes I lied about my age, but if I wouldn't have they wouldn't let me have a yahoo........That's totally off topic)

Wow! This was a very good question and you sure did get some fantastic answers! The ones I am most impressed with are the ones who described how construction work has been affected by illegals by causing employers who only hire legal citizens to go out of business because they cannot compete with those who hire illegals at far lower pay. This more than ever firms up in my mind that employers of illegals need to be fully prosecuted and fined along with jail time and loss of their business license! I am sure this same scenario works in all facets of employment - the illegals are undercutting citizens for jobs in the USA! This should NOT be allowed to go on! I know that even janitorial services who hire illegals and then bid on contracts are again also able to undercut those companies who only hire legal citizens and, hence, they obviously are put out of business, as well. This is a terrible shame and I think there should be a hot line to call to report employers of illegals and with ensurance that ALL such cases are checked out by INS immediately if someone calls in a report of an employer hiring illegals. There should also be a very public posted listing of ALL employers of illegals in order to publicly shame those employers.

Illegal immigrants keep down the general standard of living that our country has achieved over the past 230 years. By undercutting the lowest legal wage and not paying taxes, but still burdening our social safety net, that act as a drag on the success of our economy.
They also permit corporations from being responsible citizens and pay the legal wage mandated by law. If corporations were monitored and the legal wage enforced, all those jobs that "Americans no longer want", would be wanted. There are plenty of people on welfare who would love a job, but that job has to pay a living wage.
So the answer to your question is this- people who work below the LEGAL wage standard of our country- legal or illegal hurt all of us.

All these ignorant, ungrateful people....America would not be the same without the history of these illegal immigrants. They have provided cheap labor, worked extremely hard and took jobs that most of you couldn't probably handle for even a day. In addition, some of these illegal immigrants have died on their work. Yes, do you know how many workers who built washington bridge have died in the past?
Even now days, most "mexican" illegal immigrants that ya'll seem to hate take on difficult jobs and work very demanding hours. All they want is better life for their families. Most don't commit crime. They work hard and send what little they've earned back to their families in Mexico.
And why do they come illegal? Because the legal system that you guys refer to ain't so easy. In order to come legal, most have to wait 5 to 10 years! And the process is very complicated. Can we blame them for wanting to make a better life for their familes?
Some people are just heartless!

I'm a paramedic....and I've been on many, many calls, including fatality accidents involving illegal aliens, with some accidents killing Americans. You don't hear about this too much....but now I'm considered a "racists" because I want the laws of the land to be enforced. This is total and complete BS. There is nothing wrong with someone wanting to better themselves.....but if you're going to be in this country, then follow the laws, and do things legally. If I have to do things legally, then they sure as hell better do it.

I'm with Sashie on this...really senseless question......but to humor you......My SS# was stolen by an illegal Mexican male, ran up 38,000 in credit card debt in 3 major cities and still pending, my 2005 and 2006 taxes. The Feds are working on fixing it all but for now I can't even buy a stick of gum on credit. How's that for a direct assault? If you think it's not so bad cuz there's no bodily injury or life threat you're sadly mistaken. My family is suffering greatly and going without much because of this. Many of our plans and dreams have been put off indefinitely. I have to spend extra time watching what comes in my mail, on the phone correcting crap that isn't mine and watching my back for another assault. They share stolen info you know!

OK - I don't know that this situation "hurt" me but I was directly involved and it made things more difficult. I was teaching school in Southern California. A number of the students in my class were not citizens; they lived with relatives on this side of the border and crossed into Tijuana on the weekend to be with their parents.
I loved these children so it was difficult to also be upset that they required so much extra attention due to the fact that they had no English skills, that there was no way to follow-up with parents about educational issues etc.
The kids in question also seemed to live with some guilt that their situation was somehow wrong or secret and it didn't help their self-esteem.
