some people say that the ds lite is cool and all, but i wanted to know which one is actually better. In other words, will the ds lite pass a ds in a drop test?

I have one of each... The DS Lite is way slimmer & lighter than the DS. The screen is bigger & brighter. The only downfall is that the button to turn it on is annoying. Its like a thing you slide up as compared to the DS's switch. So overall, the DS Lite is much better.

DS lite seems cooler, but I'd go for the cheaper one they seem the same to me in means of drop test capabilities and such

might as well go for the ds lite
its reallly smaller and the form factor makes it that much easier to bring it ard

Well, my guess is neither. They both use a very flimsy lcd screen. If either I would go with the Ds. Cheaper, and I bet they bounce better :)
It sucks when you break one of them lcd's.
I've played on both, neither is very confortable. Lite being smaller doesn't do alot for it but make it fit in your pocket better.

i waited and bought 2 ds lights...yup...count them 2 and i think it was a better deal- all it is a brighter screen same price.
