Brake repair varies by what is needed. Most of the time with a low mileage vehicle the rotor can be turned and pads replaced on the front, the rear have shoes and usually last twice as long so you shouldn't need rear brakes for a while. When the vehicle gets many miles, then additional parts need to be changed if worn which include rotors and calipers. Even though dealer service is more expensive the amount of labor hours for brakes is very small maybe 2, they do have the factory parts as there is a big variance in brake pads, I prefer Bendix but for foreign vehicles there are different brands but i think the mazda is a ford clone it is hard to keep track of models these days

This is hard to say, it entirely depends on how much you are repairing, e.g., brakes on 1 axle or both axles.......what is being replaced......Front axle, pads replaced, rotors turned, should not under any circumstances run over $200......rear axle, depends on you braking system, if you have pads or drums, some newer cars still have drums on the rear axle......should run slightly less if that is the cases........if you are repairing both axles, around $350, with parts replaced.......if you are replacing master cylinder, as much as $300.......
Those are just "guesstimates", since it is not specified how much you intend to repair.... :-)

It depends on the condition of the rotors, the calipers, and so forth.

Assuming pads and rotor rotation, probably about 150 per axle. If you need new rotors, that's going to go up.

We won't talk about if you need new calipers.
