Not weeks dear, days. You should at least wait two to three days after you have a perm to wash your hair.
After you wash your hair, you can put some conditioner in, but not a lot because this tends to relax the curls. Use a pick after you wash your hair, not a comb or a brush but a pick. Letting it air dry is the best, blow drying it will make it look frizzy and become more dry.
