Order a crate engine...save your frustrations. You'll get peak performance out of a crate motor.....you can order them any way you want. I'd try to find a tranny in a salvage yard but you can order a reman for those. Engines are around 3000 for a built one and tranny would be around 1500. Good luck.

Way too much! All cars newer than 1980 are like bic lighters.........use them till they quit and throw them away. Engine rebuild done right cost U $2,000.........Tranny another $1,000. So buy another $3,000 Hooptie and forget the Honda. No car worth rebuild unless U plan to drive it over 100,000 mi.

almost positively more than the car is worth, or insured for--unless its plated in gold.

I had to replace the transmission on my eclipse and it cost nearly 1/3 of the car's value. the engine would be significantly more expensive becuase its much more complex, too.

enough that you should just get another one...if you really love that model. the tranny is the BIG deal here..engines aren't too bad.. but trannies are so compicated....:(
