Been there, know how you feel, any one can give advice, but unless they have been there, they shouldn't. I had a lot of advice thrown at me that didn't help and was better left unsaid. There was a lolt of times I felt like I was never going to get better or be happy again, I found that what worked for me was going to my doctor and discussing it with him. He put me on medication, which was great, I felt so much better, and I didn't feel "drugged up". Hobbies are great, they keep your mind busy where you don't think about things so much and dwell on them. Find a great counselor to talk to, maybe you can find out why you feel this way and what started it. Church also helps. You may not feel like going to church or anywhere, but if you find a church that you really like it makes a difference. Hope this helps and I hope you feel better soon. Depression can take a while to get over. I was depressed as a child and adult, but I've been great the past 6 months with no meds. so it's possible to recover and be happy agian. Don't give up. Life is too short as it is.

The way I got over being depressed was thinking more about others and DOING what I could for them. Being busy helps. Meds will help if you have a good doctor. Try thinking less about yourself and your circumstances and more about what you can contribute to LIFE! Help where you can and stay active. Give it time- but it does work, believe me! Reach out to others even if you don't feel like being social. Learn to listen! May God bless you!~

James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the total regulation, and yet offend in a unmarried aspect, he's accountable of all. God gave us our moral experience so we ought to recognize when we wreck His regulation; the guilt we experience when we do something incorrect tells us that we favor to repent. See also Romans 2:15. in case you keep on feeling accountable afterwards you're doubting God's salvation.

be careful of some of these answers! they are kookie! check out websites ands talk to a dr or call your community mental health and just start telling them whats going on. they should help. and when you say " nothing will help"- there are things that help dear but you are depressed and feeling like theres no hope, be patient and work at this as much as you can. you will get better i promise! but it takes a looooooooooooong time unfortunatley!

You need to look to a power greater than yourself -- Jesus for help.

I have had suicidal thoughts/depression and one of God's promises that helps me is:

Psalms 41:2
"The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth:"(KJV)

I also say this verse whenever I get these thoughts:

Psalms 118:17 I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the Lord has done.(NIV)

Another good one is:
Jerimiah 29:11For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (NIV)

Studies have shown that depression medications are effective in helping with depression, so that's an option too.

Let me just pray for you right now...
Jesus, I pray for this poster that you touch his/her life and heal him/her compleately of this depression. I bind any evil forces that may be coming against him/her and I thank you that you are showing him/her how much you love him/her and that you have an awesome plan for his/her life and you want him/her to live to fulfill that plan.

Amen.

In the beginning you were a baby you could do nothing for yourself then as a child you learned to walk, talk and think for yourself. Giving your beginning these seem like impossible tasks. Now you have a gift you don't want to use. Why not let someone else use your gift, perhaps a baby?
