If you know ahead of time that you will be having a c-section then you can schedule it. You can not just choose to have one instead of a vaginal delivery.

I know delivery and labor sounds very scary, but look at how many of us were born (and most from this very same way).

Make sure to take some birthing lessons and you will be a little more informed so you won't be quite as scared. It's always scary the first time (it was the second time for me too!)

Good luck!
p.s. make sure to talk with your doc or nurse if you have any questions. That's what they are there for!

It's not recommended unless there is a medical indication for it. Having gone through a cesarean myself, I don't think it's a good ideafor anyone to want to do it without trying to have a vaginal birth first. It's far more painful than a vaginal birth, and the effects last much, much longer. You miss those first moments of your babies life, and they are gone forever. After a vaginal birth, mom is able to get up and shower right away - I couldnt walk for a few days after my cesarean. I had pain for months after wards, and it also means that future pregnancies have more risks because of the trauma that your uterus has undergone. Babies are also born healthier when they are born vaginally, and are more alert and willing to breastfeed (if you plan to do this). Almost every mother I know (and I know a lot of them) who had cesareans had serious trouble with breastfeeding that resulted either in the need for a paid lactation consultant, or weaning to a bottle.

I live in NJ. You can't just schedule one because you want one. There has to be a medical reason. Unless you've had one before. Then you can opt to have another one.

I had a c-section because my feet & legs were VERY swollen at the end. But with my next baby I'm hoping to have it natural.

That I know of, You cannot just have a c-section when you want.
You have to wait the full term.
And if you can't have it naturally or there are complications, only then will you have a c section.

yes you can choose to have a c-section you will just have to set it up with your doctor but it is your choice as to how you want to have your baby your doctor may try to talk you out of schedualing a c-section but if you are sure that is what you want to do then just insist on it and they must do it for you or refer you to someone who will

You probably need to speak with your doctor to do this. He or she needs to find out how far along you are and speak with you about when you would like to have the baby, as well as your health at the time.
