Property managemnt is different, and I find that the situation is a catch-22. If you don't have previous apt. management experience, no one will hire you. However, if no one will hire you you'll never get the necessary experience you need.

Depending on you current skill set you could try to get a job with a poperty management company in another position. Once youre in start classes. Accounting, Business management, real estate basics, anything that has to do with orginzation. Make sure youre proficient in problem solving and people skills. Those two traits are key to being a good manager in any setting.

Try your local community college for a list of programs.

To be an apartment manager, one doesn't necessarily need a college degree, but rather some schooling in property management and landlording. Many community colleges offer these types of classes.
