It was open twice today and was taking 20,000K from one and 17,000K from the other. I understand it's from Norton Antivirus, but isn't the point of a Virus program to block programs that destroy your information and TAKE UP ALL YOUR MEMORY!!!???? Crap sorry I got mad. So what exactly are the 15 DIFFERENT programs doing for Norton? I'm beginning to think Norton is a virus. It takes forever to load, constantly wants you to upgrade, and the scan prevents you from doing anything while it's running cause it takes all the CPU. I've already paid so I'm not getting anything else though.

ccapp.exe is a process belonging to Norton AntiVirus. It is responsible for the auto-protect and email checking facilities, both of which will not function correctly if this service is stopped. This program is important for the stable and secure running of your computer and should not be terminated.

Note: ccapp.exe could also be a process belonging to an advertising program by adware.w32.fastclick. This process monitors your browsing habits and distributes the data back to the author's servers for analysis. Thcould also be also prompts advertising popups. This program could also be a registered security risk and should be removed immediately

That's why I don't use Norton. It's too memory intensive. There are a lot of good AV programs out there that don't use up as much resources. I personally use AntiVir. It's free, updated almmost as often as Norton, and has actually caught viruses that Norton didn't.
