In this day and age it mostly depends on your financial situation. Never have more children than you can comfortably support through their growing years and don't forget about the cost of educating them. There is also the cost of social involvement be it soccer, dance lessons etc. It is during the early childhood years that you usually have car payments, a mortgage, bills etc. You also have to think of your social commitments. Do you belong to a club etc. It's a balancing act that's for sure. Having children is a commitment, a long term commitment, to love them, to cherish them, and to see that they have the best life possible.

good question too many children is when you don't have the means to take care of them you can have 5 kids and if you can provided great care and nothing is missing then go for it.. but if you cant take care of yourself and you think about having a baby then you should check yourself... i say have as many as you can afford and let me tell you kids are very very expensive

Too many should be determined by how much time, love and money you have. You should know how much you can handle, raising children is a big responsibility and a costly one, so I say as long as your nerves and wallet can take it, the sky's the limit!
