Of course they can. Look how close to the ground those little buggers are and their noses are at the lowest point of them most of the time. All kinds of things get sniffed and investigated if the gerbil gets a half a chance, so naturally some dust, pollen, little bits of material, fur balls and what ever else end up in their noses. How do you think they are going to get rid of that stuff up in there? They can't pick their noses, so they sneeze, like most animals.

yeah they can i had one once.just keep it in a warm area away from cold air.not to warm though.dont put them in front of a cool vent i had an expeirience once.
