apply oil and use a good shampoo like loreal or garnier fructis...on a personal note..i suggest the usage of loreal elvive products

Biolage Products! Switch between the Hydrating shampoo and conditioner and the Smoothing shampoo and conditioner every other time you wash. Then when you've washed and conditioned, rinse it out..... when you come out of the shower, slightly towel dry your hair and put some "Biolage Conditioning Balm" smoothing it all over your hair (especially if you have long thick dry hair like me ;) !!) Now you can easily detangle and brush your hair, leaving it SMOOTH and when it dries your hair will absorb the extra conditioning and leave it manageable! Don't worry it wont make your hair look like you put gel in it or stiff, I stopped putting frizz leave-in products after I did this.
Biolage product are a bit expensive but really worth t if you care about your hair.
Since hair does get used to the same products if you use it all the time, try another brand to revive your usual products. One I use is actually the cheapest one on the market, and remarkbly works wonders.... its called "Alberto VO5- Silky Experiences- Champagne Kiss" ... Its only $0.99 cents each - And I love it!

I have been dealing with this for many years. My hair is course and curly. I am always straightening it with an iron, which has broken it. Now I get it professionally straightened, which makes it smooth. I also use good shampoo's (Sleek, and also Suave with Moroccan oil.) I condition my hair with a keratin conditioner. You do not have to spend a lot of money on hair care products. Suave with Moroccan oil and the leave in oil is great! I used to spend a lot of money on shampoo's, conditioners, etc. Another product I use is Proclaim (olive oil) leave in shine. It, seriously, adds condition and shine and can be purchased at Sally Beauty Supply. I straighten it a l little with the babliss straightening iron. My hair looks smooth, feels soft, and looks naturally healthy. I also warm olive oil from time to time and put in in my hair, then wash it, and condition it. We have to baby our hair, but it works... good luck!

I use thermasilk shampoo and conditioner and it makes my coarse hair extreamly soft, because it works with the heat of the shower water. Do this, and try to use as little hair products as possible, they damage hair quickly.

Nexxus Therappe (or Humectress) Shampoo and Conditioner or the Generic version of the same. Leave the conditioner in your hair, comb through it and put a plastic cap on it for 15 minutes. Rinse your hair and let it air dry...no blow drying.

I love Garnier Fructic Products! You should try them!
Probably start with the moustirizing one! I will leave your hair silky soft, especially if you use the deep conditioner in addition to the shampoo and conditioner

If you live in NY close to NYC there is a hair care product designed especially for curly and or course or frizzy hair called Ouidad. You can order it online and it is a bit pricey but worth every penny. Its nice to have a product out there that actually does what it says it will otherwise curly hair can be a nightmare. Try it you'll love her line! I swear!

I like Garnier Fruchtis. It keeps my hair really soft. All their styling products work really well for coarse hair and keep frizz down too.

Oil, oil, oil and more oil. Jojoba oil is good. Pack it on, do something for an hour, and sometimes it takes a lot of washing to get it out but when you do, your hair is much softer than any conditioner on the market.

I'd try using Pantene "Full and Thick". That's what I use. I also have thick hair, and it really works. I like it a lot. It keeps your hair very smooth and soft, and from experience with other shampoos, I prefer this one out of all of them! Its really great.
