I think that it's fine to use in moderation. The are no extreme health risks associated with it. Well there is the risk of lung cancer, but according to studies you can even get cancer from second hand smoke. I even had a doctor tell me once that they have not even linked any ill effects to babies whose mothers smoke it while pregnant. If everyone smokied it then then maybe the world could be a better, happier place.

Okay, well...I'm 58 years old and have been smoking pot since I was 18. My husband is 64 years old and has been smoking pot since he was 21. We have 3 intelligent, productive and creative children with absolutely no health or behavioral problems. We both have held jobs with increasing responsibility and complexity. We have no particular health problems that can be attributed to smoking pot; I'm a diabetic, but that's because I was overweight for 20 years. I do the New York Times crossword puzzle each week. I can remember things that happened 25 years ago and also things that happened yesterday. The only people I have ever known who died from substance abuse died from liver problems associated with drinking alcohol and lung cancer associated with cigarettes. Oh, and by the way, the latest studies indicate that marijuana has no more of an effect on lung capacity and health than cigarettes do. Most of my friends smoke marijuana and all are active and healthy and intelligent people. Where's the problem?

Personally I enjoy smoking after a long day at work and taking a stroll on the beach. I have smoked since I was about 16 and never have abused it and it has never affected my career or any aspect of my life what so ever. I am successful and make good money and if you do not like it don't smoke it!!! bottom line! But don't hate me b/c I find a way to ease my stress rather than grabbing a bottle and getting so drunk I kill someone on the road!

I enjoy smoking weed i don't do it a lot, i don't drink or use other drugs but when me and my friends go out on weekends, i smoke some weed they drink. i can still drive just fine, i would much rather have my kids smoke pot than drink beer. i will not advocate either one .but i think it should be legal that's for sure.what really bugs me is that they lump all illegal drugs into the if you do this you will die category . they don't say that weed isn't great but it wont hurt you as much as cocaine or heroin. and the whole thing about it being a gateway drug is bull crap. I've never done any other drug neither have any of my friends that smoke.

I've outgrown it. But I think it is okay. It should be under the same laws as alcohol. No toking and driving, only for 21 and over. No open bags in the vehicle. etc. The government is missing out on a great tax collection. Many, many people do it...from kids to politicians, and it will never go away.

I agree with you. I grew up in the same kind of atmosphere. I smoked with my father, my stepfather, my sister, and of course my friends. It never had a negative impact on my life. I still went to college and now I have a very good job. There have been studies to show that people who smoke pot are less likely to get lung cancer than people who smoke cigarretes.

An 18 yr. scientific study has proven that marijuana is not
addicting. My feelings are that if it would cut down on the use
of alcohol, I'm totally for it.
Drunks are dangerous driving, they get into fights, talk loud -
none of side-effects of pot.
The TV commercial that makes pot sound so bad, is very
disturbing to me, that they can put a bunch of unresearched
lies on the air, like it's fact. I mean, have you ever heard them
state their source for info?!

I would never subject my children to something that depletes your motivation and could possibly lead to something worse. Weed is very unhealthy, but I feel the same about cigarettes...
