The reason why Football(soccer) is globally accepted is because it is so easy to play. All you need is a round ball and a preferably rectangular bit of somewhat level ground. Everything else (goalposts, referees, spectators, full teams of 11 players, etc.) is optional. You don't need any special equipment and you don't even need shoes. That's why football is so popular.
Almost every country in the world has a football team, if not football leagues. Also, with over 300 million viewers worldwide watching the FIFA World Cup, the American Superbowl is peanuts in comparison.

Football or soccer is anything but boring but only for those who are able to forego the need for immediate gratification. By that I mean that no - there won't most likely be a score everytime there is a turnover as in basketball or football. Also, few sports focus on a players ability to make such unique moves with the ball; this is truly a game of skill and talent unlike any other. It is a game of strength and endurance unlike any other. Moreover, I've never seen any sport that makes the fans such an integral part of the game. No other athletes show the depth of appreciation for the fans as do these guys, and likewise the fans go out 100% to show their support. Boring - I don't think so.

How can the world's most popular sport be soooooooo boring? I guess the world with the exclusion of America is boring. Yeah I know you're American because you say soccer. The rest of the world with such diverse people, culture, food, music, activities must be truly boring to enjoy this sport. But I guess I can't fault you for your ignorance. To all you people that say you don't like it because it's low scoring. I say that's absolutely stupid! Learn to appreciate the skills, the brotherhood among the members of a team and most all the passion of the players and the fans!

Boring? Soccer?! No, no, no. Now American football is boring, and so is baseball. How often do you find women feigning over baseball players?...they look like they ate a whole soccer team.
I suppose you're not a soccer player...I've played it all of the time to keep in shape. You see, flipping through the television channels that show a stupid thing such as an American football game only gives my thumb a good workout. Soccer keeps the rest of me in shape.

Boring? Have you ever watched a soccer match? This world cup has been anything but boreing! And even the most boring soccer game is still 10x the excitement of (americian) football or baseball! And that awsome bit about being a "poor peoples" sport, it's neat that some very poor nations can compete sucsesfully on a world level! You will never see that happen with for example (americian)football! It's cool that soccer is this neat universial langauge. To bad us Americians didn't get the memo!

Just because you are an idiot who doesn't understand football...the real football..not american pig football...doesn't mean it's boring....if you want to know what is boring..just watch baseball and american football...now if anything puts you in a coma..it is those sports....and really..when you see those fat *** players rolling around and running down a field..you think..."how can they even walk with those helmets and pads...? let alone run?..don't they have heart attacks from eating so much grease?"
so if you want to know why soccer is accepted globally it's because the rest of the world knows a real sport when they see it...they know what is worth watching...and it is more than just a game...it unites the whole world together..it is a huge party...that is what is so awesome about it....

Are you thinking clearly???Soccer is the most popular sport in the world because every corner of the planet plays this game.Just cause America sucks doesnt mean it's boring!!!It's a sport that brings people together and it's very exciting to watch.How can you even say that soccer is boring?!

Cuz it's not boring - If one feels it's boring that doesn't mean others feel the same! And As you said Globally accepted - means Worldwide accepted So how can So many people be wrong. Soccer is interesting & enjoyable eventhough you're not playing yourself Because it's a game that interest oneself while even sitting watching.............. etc! Try it!

Oh man! You have to be crazy, Football (Soccer), it's the best sport in the world. Maybe you aren't a fanatic, but saying what you said is showing ignorance. I have to think that you are U.S. resident because football there have less fanatics, in comparison to other countries with more tradition. For example I live in Venezuela (baseball country) and I really like baseball, volleyball, tennis. But football is a mixture of emotions that you can't find in any sport.

Soccer is a sport that anybody and everybody can relate to. Unlike Rugby or American Football it's a world sport. You don't even have to be good to play, and thats not always the case with sports. Simply put, it's fun.
