How can I join in and go river tubing with Rafting in the Smokies and Tubing in the Smokies? Simply present yourself at our Tubing headquarters in Gatlinburg, TN—2470 East Parkway. Wear sneakers, a bathing suit/ shorts or clothing you don’t care to get wet. The trip takes approximately 1- 1 1/2 hours and reservations are required.
Once you drive to the Hartford Outpost Location, we will shuttle you to the put-in and provide you with a commercial tube and life jacket. You’ll finish about 2.4 miles down river where we will shuttle you back to our tubing headquarters in Hartford.
When you return, you can browse through our Outfitter Store where you will find souvenirs, t-shirts, and other items to make your tubing adventure an unforgettable Smoky Mountain experience.
We do not permit the taking of food and beverages on the river (because of environmental pollution).

Townsend is also a great place to go tubing. There are signs from Pigeon Forge leading you to Townsend and Cades Cove. The road pretty much follows the Pigeon River and it's not hard to spot a tubing place. I believe the main tubing area in Townsend is River Rats. They are everywhere. Just get in your car and drive and you'll find a tubing place with no problems.
