A friend and I went to a restaurant where we ordered entire dinners (which included salad, drink, entree and dessert) plus an appetizer. He took our orders then said he would be right back with drinks (nothing fancy, just iced tea and Coke). A while later he brought salads. We then discovered we had no forks, so we asked for forks and again for the drinks. He apologized and said he would be right back. Someone else brought just the forks. Later our entrees arrived. Still no drinks. After asking a third time he brought them. I asked if the appetizer was ready, and he said he would check on it. After we finished the entrees, he brought the dessert and asked if we needed anything else. I said, yes, the appetizer and drink refills. He went to check, then just disappeared.
Almost 20 minutes later some nice waitress came by and asked if everything was ok. I said that our waiter disappeared and was supposed to be checking on the appetizer. It turns out he hadn't even put the order in! We didn't see him the rest of the time we were there.
Maybe he just ran out because he couldn't take it anymore!

My husband and I were in a hotel restaurant in Toronto and my husband had ordered sausage with his breakfast. When we were served, his sausage wasn't there so he went up to the host and asked about it. The host said it would be right out. When it wasn't he asked him again. This time the guy looked really puzzled but said it would be right out. The third time he had to ask, the guy said it was brought out. When my husband insisted that he didn't have it, the guy looked annoyed but said he'd send the waiter over with it. That's when we noticed a different waiter bringing sausage to another guy that looked nothing like my husband. This poor guy had three other plates of sausage on his table. Maybe you had to be there, but it was really funny at the time!

Only one....a friend and I were walking to work due to severe snow and ice...no driving as it was too icy. We both had uniforms on, stopped into a little diner to warm up with hot chocolate and bisquits with gravy. The waitress had three tables to tend, she was not happy we came in. I think maybe she was just having a bad day. Taking our orders she was rather impatient, when she brought our food out, she literally threw the plate at me, and the food slopped out onto my uniform top, the gravy burned the skin on my throat where it landed. My friend, being rather mouthy, stated loudly, "Well THAT was RUDE!" I said to forget it, we were going to be late for work if we didn't eat and go. We ate, went to pay the bill. Waitress actually asked for her tip, so I turned around to her, showed her the front of my uniform and said, "Would you like to pay for the dry cleaning? If so, we'll talk tip." It wasn't my intention to get her in trouble, but I guess her boss heard my mouthy friend and fired the waitress.

Don't know if you are asking about waiters you've had, or stories while one was waiting tables... here's one...
I picked up a summer job at a small restaurant on the riverfront. They weren't always crowded, so we were not that busy (even though they were impressed by my catering/banquet serving experience and were going to hire me for that - it never panned out much to my dismay as that would have meant big $$$.) I worked there for about a month... the pay wasn't that great, they took the tip percentage whether or not I actually got the tips. The final straw came when during week 3, they decided to get the nice Polo style short sleeve shirts with the logo embroidered... they just gave them out to us, no big deal. The next pay, I get a check for about 12.00 because they took out the cost of the shirt (it was like a 40.00 shirt!!!!plus the tips and taxes taken out!) Talk about pissed! The owner's wife just handed out the shirt, not telling that we'd have to pay for it!

My friends and I went to a restaurant that quite popular, and we all decided to go there because they have good food and the service is fine. Well we sat there for a whileand the server came around took our order, which was only 3 pies a la mode. 1 hour later we still had no pies. So we asked him about it and he said they would be out soon. half an hour later he brings them and tells us that they were being cooked. Well once we dip inside the pie, it was cold. Figure that one out.

I once ordered room service in a hotel I was staying at and the waiter wanted my change that I was given after paying for my food bill as his tip.

me and my husband went to a Dennys in Tenn. the waitress was flirting with men a few tables away and was slow to wait on us. she would not even refill our coffee cups. its ok to flirt to get tips, or a date, or whatever she was doing, but she needed to wait on customers too. we reported her and so did 3 other couples. sheezze! she was a bad waitress!!

yeah I used to work as a waiter for about 4 weeks
I remind those four weeks as the most horrible month of my life
I am a university student and when I entered the job some fool used to order and play me around.
i hated him
he ordered me to clean all the windows while they were all clean every day.even the days which was rainy.
I used to work from 10am until 12pm all the standing up and walking around cleaning the tables.
the others didn't use to give a damn about u.
I hated that job and I quite after 4 weeks.
