Depends on the prosecutor. ANY charges can be dismissed regardless of seriousness. Just depends on the prosecutor and the judge.

Not dismissed just because it is their first assault.
Possibly probation. Depends on the person's criminal history. The person charged needs to talk to their lawyer.

However, if the A&B sticks, the only you can hope for is that the punishment is less because it is your first offense.

It could be, did you pay for the damages of the other person if there was any. And is the other person pushing for you to be punished.
