my sons with his father he says hes happy how long does it take him to realize that i love him and that his home is here with me

First off, don't relate his being happy with his dad to not loving you or knowing that his home is with you. You have to realize a boy and his dad have a lot to share together that he can't share and experience with you. Don't let your personal feelings and insecurity get in the way of his enjoying his time with his dad. You and him have plenty of time so relax. A kid can love both his parents and enjoy being with both of them equally.
P.S. I get home sick after about a week.

your son probably does realize how much you love.maybe he just misses his father and want too spend time with him .When he is ready he will come home.and as they say absents makes that heart grow founder.please give your son time to make his own decision,if you push him too hard too come home he may move further away .

If he is happy why would you make him not by making him come home. It sounds like you need to let him go and make his own decisions.
