I used to make a caramel-like dipping sauce in the fall to dip apples in. It tasted just like the stuff you buy in the produce section. I cannot remember how I made it! Does anyone have any good recipes for apple dipping sauces?

Caramel FondueServing Size : 2 1/4 cup unsalted butter
3/4 cup whipping cream
1/2 cup sugar
3 tablespoons dark corn syrup
pinch salt
1 teaspoon Scotch

Put butter, 1/2 of the cream, sugar, corn syrup and salt in small heavy saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring often, until boiling, about 4 minutes. Cook, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until thickened and deep tan in color, about 11 minutes. remove from heat. Stir in remaining cream and whiskey. (Can be made up to 2 weeks ahead and refrigerated. Before using, gently reheat in microwave until warm).
Place warm caramel fondue pot or small, warm bowl. Place on platter with selection of fruits, cakes or biscotti for dipping.

1 cup graham cracker crumbs
2 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
2 1/2 pounds cream cheese, softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 lemon, zested
1 orange, zested
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
5 eggs
2 egg yolks
1/2 cup sour cream
Strawberry Sauce, optional, recipe follows
Blueberry Sauce, optional, recipe follows
Pineapple Sauce, optional, recipe follows
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Directions:
Butter the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. In a mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, butter and sugar and mix well. Press onto bottom of springform pan and bake until golden, about 8 minutes. Set aside to cool.
When completely cooled, butter the sides of the pan. Increase oven temperature to 500 degrees F.
In a large mixing bowl with an electric mixer, combine cream cheese, sugar, zests and vanilla and beat until light and creamy. Add the flour, then the eggs and yolks 1 at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add the sour cream and mix until smooth. Pour mixture into prepared pan and bake for 12 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 200 degrees F and bake for 1 hour more. Transfer cake to a cooling rack and let cool completely. Refrigerate cake overnight before serving.
To serve, top with sauce of choice. Slice with a knife dipped in hot water and wiped with a clean cloth, and serve.
Strawberry Sauce:
2 pints fresh strawberries
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest
2 tablespoons kirsch or brandy
Combine berries, sugar, water and zest and cook until berries are soft and the liquid is thick, about 10 minutes. Stir in the kirsch or brandy and cook for 1 minute.
Remove from the heat and let cool. Spoon on top of the cheesecake and serve.

Blueberry Sauce:
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 1/2 cups water
1/2 cup fresh-squeezed orange juice
2 tablespoons Grand Marnier liqueur
1 1/2 teaspoons orange zest
1 1/2 cups blueberries, picked over and rinsed
1 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter
In a small saucepan over medium-high heat stir together the sugar, cornstarch, water, orange juice, and orange zest. Cook, stirring occasionally, until thickened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the blueberries and simmer the mixture, stirring occasionally, until the berries have burst, about 5 minutes. Add the butter and stir until melted. Remove from heat and let cool before pouring over the cheesecake.
Yield: 3 cups
Pineapple Sauce:
3 cups fresh 1/2-inch diced pineapple chunks
1/4 cup sugar, plus more to taste
1 cup water
1 teaspoon finely grated orange zest
2 tablespoons light rum
Combine pineapple, sugar, water and zest, and cook until pineapple is tender and the liquid is thick, about 15 minutes. Stir in the rum, and cook for 1 more minute. Remove from the heat and let cool. Spoon on top of the cheesecake and serve.
Yield: about 3 cups

APPLE DIP
1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, brown sugar and vanilla well. Add the peanut butter. Chill in the refrigerator.

CARMEL PEANUT BUTTER DIP
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup caramel ice cream topping
4 Tablespoons milk
Combine peanut butter, caramel topping and milk in small saucepan. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is melted and warm.

Microwave Directions:.
Combine all ingredients in small microwavable dish. Microwave at MEDIUM (50%) 1 minute; stir well. Microwave an additional minute on medium or until mixture is melted and warm.

Creamy Caramel Dip
1 bag (14 oz.) KRAFT Caramels (about 50)
2/3 cup half-and-half
Place caramels and half-and-half in medium heavy saucepan; cook on low heat until caramels are completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring frequently. Serve warm or at room temperature as a dip with assorted cookies, cut-up fresh fruit, pretzels or angel food cake cubes.. Store in refrigerator.

PHILADELPHIA Dessert Dip
1 pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
1 jar (7 oz.) JET-PUFFED Marshmallow Creme
Mix ingredients until well blended; cover.
Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Serve with assorted cookies or cut-up fresh fruit.

i dont care what ur q is, but instead of choosing ur answer as the best answer to write this to you, ill just write it here. the reason i want to kno how old people are if they drink coffee is cuz my friends and family say that its not good for you and that it makes you shorter. im not telling you to believe it, or to stop drinkig coffee, cuz i cudnt care less, but i think its true, so if ur gonna put crap like 'o, i've been dinking since i was 8, so what?' then dont answer at all!

did you try caramel?lol!

just kidding. u shud like, maybe go to the library and look for a cooking book or something, if you havent already.

you may grate an apple placed it in a bowl. make warm apple juice and placed some cornflour interior the juice to thicken it and placed the grated apple interior the sauce. savour! wish this enables :) :) :) :)
