Eating throughout the day will keep your metabolism working continuously. You are right on. Be sure you eat plenty of fruit, and you might consider a multi vitamin while dieting. But yes, go for it, you're on the right track. I do holistic medicine and watch what I eat all the time, but no I'm not a vegetarian or anything like that. I just know how the body reacts and how it works.

Of course your metabolism slows down, it's an adaptation for hunger. That's why they recommend to exercise when you are on a diet. But you shouldn't eat less that 1200 kcal per day, because you won't be able to get all the nutrients you need to keep your body alive, your brain working, etc.

if you eat small portions like the way you described for a total of 1200 calories (lets say every 3 to 4 hrs) then your metabolism will speed up, not slow down.

i wanna know what a 300 calorie dinner looks like share dat info. Someppl are on diet of like 1500 calories a day for extreme weight lost measure prescribed by doctors. So i don't see any harm in it. As long as you just give yourself enuff food so you don't feel hungry because thats when your body goes into starvation mood and metbolism gets slow. Good luck on the dieting.

Your plan sounds good...but everyone is different. Experiment and find a meal plan that works for you.

1200 calories is the minimum amount recommended when you are dieting. Eating any less can put your body into starvation mode, and it will store everything as fat.

that's too little
1200 isnt adequate for anybody--
for example in wartimes--1400 calories were considered "meager" for soldiers

the average person should get at least 1500 a day...to be on the safe side. Don't go below that...it's too dangerous.

You're actually doing pretty much what I do when I diet, and it works great for me. I think it depends on your size and metabolism, and level of activity (if you are more active eat more), but I think you're on the right direction

1200 is fine. If you starve yourself your body will think its dying and try to save itself by sowing your metabolism.

eating smaller portions more often is the "weigh" to go
