My doctor keeps changing my baby's due date, and it's time to take matters into my own hands. Help me out, guys! Here are the gorey details: My last menstrual cycle started on September 27, and ended on October 2. My husband and I had sex on October 2, and when my next menstrual cycle failed to start the following month, we learned we were pregnant.

My doc originally said that the due date was any time between June 22 and July 4. He then changed it to June 28 to July 3, then June 26 through July 4. Then last week, he said he expected it anytime within the following week. Then today he said its' not coming anytime soon - that it's definitely going to be a July baby. Is it supposed to be this complicated? Does anyone know how to determine an "exact" due date, rather than general time frames like my doc? Is he a quack? What's going on here?? To make matters worse, I'm definitely experiencing Braxton-Hicks... Ugh! Get this baby out of me!! :)

Thanks guys!

The gestation period of humans is 266 days, 8 days short of nine months. If you are sure of the October 2nd date, then we just add 266 days and get 25 June 2006.

Of course every woman is different. My empirical data suggests that the first baby tends to be a week or two late.

YMMV

The baby comes when the baby comes, all due dates are pretty wrong, just lucky guesses end up right.
Now to put yourself in labor, drink castor oil, go to the bathroom and walk run, exercise, clean and have sex.
If that fails, then the Lord only knows when the baby comes.
Praying all goes well and let nature take it's course, it's the best way.
